Based on what I've heard and seen, it seems that EVERYONE (non-Marksman included) are able to use the Republic Blaster as long as the weapon was crafted post-patch.

For some reason, some folks don't have the certification and others do -- I've asked the Devs to answer this, no response so far. But as far as I can tell, everyone can use it even if they aren't "certified" ... anyone still unable to use them, post-patch?

I've asked the Devs to tell us how we currently get the certification, and to put the certification in the Pistoleer tree -- no response yet, but I'll let you know if they do respond.

The rep blastr cert is an unknown, some toons have it at creation, some do not have it at master pistoleer.

The diff between stop and bs3 is speed. At master with a 1.6 speed gun I can stop every 2 seconds and bs3 every second. Stop hits harder, but it's random ham and slow. BS3 not as hard a hit, but it's all coming off the health bar and you can chop alot faster.

I only use Stop if my opponent has a very small action or mind bar, or shows that they can 1 shot stim out of any health trouble.

Actually, that's not true. You probably won't get the Republic Blaster at Novice, since by all indications the certification is not tied to any particular class. Several players who have non-combat oriented characters have said they have the certification, while others who are Master Pistoleer have reported having no Republic Blaster certification at all. By all indications, you either have the certification or you don't. I know that our correspondent has been trying to get answers from the Devs as to just exactly one gains the certification, but as of now it's a total guessing game.
