All right, I figured this would be the place to ask, as someone might know...

I have the following template:

MBH/MSmugg/0400 Pistoleer. Now, I'm not sure if builds affect speed ceilings, but I was looking to pick up some pistol AAs or CAs...and thought before I spent hard earned money, I should ask around and find out where the numbers would cap out at. Sorry if this question is annoying.

Thanks for the help!

My personal opinion is that speed SEAs are noce, but that they may not be worth the money you have to put out to acquire them.

There is no more real speed cap like there was Pre-CU. The more speed that you have in your template, the faster you will fire. The difference is that there is a formula of diminishing returns. The more speed that you get, the LESS of an improvement you will see in your speed. If you have a modified speed of 1.0 on a pistol, you will NOT fire that pistol twice as fast with a modified speed of 0.5. You will fire faster, but not twice as fast....which is what you may think if you judge the math at face value.

This is the same reason that speed pups can make a weapon look a LOT more dangerous in terms of DPS than it actually is. The DPS calculation does not take into consideration the diminishing returns of speed mods. As a result, if you increase the speed 30%, the DPS will show that you also increase the damage 30%. This is simply not the case.

I can tell you what I did. I went ahead and kept my eye out for General Ranged Speed, General Ranged Accuracy, Pistol speed, pistol accuracy, and Pistol Defense SEAs. I didnt actively go looking for them at every turn, I just kept my eyes open. I would find a good deal on a +8 here, another good deal on a +10 there. Eventually I had accumulated enough SEAs to reach the SEA cap for the mojority of those catagories (the cap for any skill increase from attachments is +25, although on your character sheet it will incorrectly display all of the mods you have on). All of these SEAs will help you, but they are not so amazing that they will really change your gameplay considerably. You will fire faster and more accurately with SEAs, but the improvement will not be such that it could turn a mediocre PvPer into an excellent one.

So yes, these are worth picking up, in my opinion. Just dont pay a mint for them and expect to see a night and day change. As a double master template, you will already have a good deal of speed. These will be icing on the cake for you.

Hope this helps!

It absolutely does. Not really looking for these for PVP, hehe. Im an exPvP'er. I just want 'em for a little boost in my big boss mark fights or when I decide to go toe to toe with a Kryat. Thank you very much. I think I'll just hold off and see what I can loot as opposed to buying one!
