Sup guys,
Just wondering if pistoleer can still hold its own.. I wasa hard-core Pistoleer since launch but after CU hit, I was working on my jedi temp. Is Pistoleer still viable template? I'm going for M.Pistoleer and M.Doc with some usefull non-battle trees. I am not looking to be the best damage dealer, but I saw what they did to M.TK and its disgusting... Simply put, Is Pistoleer still effective against mid-level npc (dont care too much for pvp)?

Highest dam dealing Pistol temp: MBH/MP/Carb0440. But that gives you no heals.
IMO the most effective is MBH/MP/CM4xxx(Medic0410). W/ this temp you can have decent damage output and be able to heal yourself better about as good as w/ a StimD every 5 secs. Add Stim Ds TOO that, and your tough.
And to answer your question, yes, Pistoleer can be very effective against mid-level NPCs.

mPistols / mDoc here.. and I can tell you that, while it doesn't have as many specials as a mBH / mPistols temp, this one can keep you in the action longer

I'm an MBH/MP/CM4000, and we're the ones who can take out Krayts while watching T.V. on the side, and hunt down double-Elite NPC bounties (35k ham, 250-500 dam per shot) without any worries.
To put it simply, Pistoleer is the PvE ranged profession.

Kewl, thanks for the info.
I was a BH/Pistoleer template and it was totally cool, but want to change things.. Doc and Pistoleer sounds like a great template, if not I can chop down doc and pick up BH again..
