Thread: Geo Sonic Blaster certification

I don't understand something... A took a look at the SWG Character Builder site (http://swgcb.yogn.net/) and saw that when I'd hit the second part of the Techniques branch, I would be certified for the Geo Sonic Blaster pistol...

Today I got into the game, traveled to my prefered weapon supplier and besides finding out that he didn't have any GSB in his shop, I also found out by going into my character page ingame (ctrl-c) that I had no certification.

Other thing I noticed while browsing through the guns listed for sale, is that I wasn't certified for most of them, even the Republic Blaster, the D18, DX2, etc. even though these notifications are listed on my character page!!!

I don't get it... Is the website incorrect or is this a bug in the game?

Is the DX2 worth buying or should I hold my money for the Geo?

I think in the description of the Geo pistol it tells you what you need to get a cert in. that's how they fixed it so you don't see it on your skills. not much help, sorry.

Just check the skills in the boxes on the left side of the skills window (Ctrl-S by default). Certificates are in the lower box, I believe.

I recommend you get both, and a rep.blaster and an FWG5

I hate my Republic Blaster! I <3 my DE-10 (3.3 spd, 182-423 no pup). Wanna know the sad part? I got a 10% damage slice on it /cry

I was the same way, it's a bug. When i examined just about any gun it said i wasn't certified, but once you have it, you can use it fine. Just gotta go by what the character builder says you are certified in.

I would get the a few dx2's before picking up a geo... both would be best but a dx2(Acid damage) is very handy in most situations and it is also reasonably cheap compared to a geo. You should attempt to have a weapon ov every damage type.. energy(Rupublic), acid(dx2), heat(FWG5), kinetic(striker?), stun(geo or tangle if you cant afford a geo), and blast(launcher pistol if you get/have novice commando).

And about the original question.. you get geo cert at pistol tech 2.

I have checked the box on the left on the ctrl-s screen and the Geo is not mentioned there as certified for me. I've bought even well and I can use it, so yes, this must be a bug in the game.

Where can I submit bugs?
