Composite rocks. Everyone has it. I have it. BUT, its bulky and...everyone has it. I'm looking for an alternative to the traditional full suit of composite. I have some really nice 75% Kin Ubese, but the Energy rating sucks. A shield generator? I dunno...never messed with em. Basically I'm just looking for any tips or thoughts on alternate armor setups. (Ideally we could get a big bonus to dodge by not wearing armor at all...but that remains my wish). Oh, I'm a master pistoleer and I dont do much, if any, PvP; for what it matters...

When I was a Armorsmith with my alt, I was making some nice kinetic layered Padded armor for hunting that rivaled Ubese in Kinetic reists, but also had the base alot higher, you may want to look into that with a different helmet (helmet looks REALLY stupid)

I like mixing armors up. My suit is my trademark. I have a greyish comp helmet, chestplate and boots mixed with brownish grey chittin pants, bracers and gloves. It looks really cool.

I love padded armor. I have an 80% Kinetic Suit with 45% Base Resists and a similar suit only with Energy as its main stat. The vulnerabilities suck, but can be partially covered up with a PSG. Not to mention its the coolest looking armor out there by far.... (and I disagree about the helmet, I like it
)
Tantel also looks pretty cool, but its resists arent that good. Ubese is good for hunting, but like you said is pretty weak against anything other than kinetic damage. In general though, I will wear anything other than composite... I hate the look of composite, as it is overworn and I see it everywhere I go.

I agree totally. Composite is effective, but everyone wears it. What are the vulnerabilities of padded? And what is the encumberance like?

Regular Padded has vulnerabilities of Stun, Acid, and Heat. The stun and the heat can be covered up by a PSG. You can also use segment enhancers to get rid of the vulnerabilities and change them to 4% resists or so (which doesnt help much in the case of acid, but having the AR1 with stun and heat can be big).
