Thread: Hows Pistoleer/CM?
I was tempted to go that route, as a medic CH pistoleer I find the combination verey complimentary.
After a round of specials a quick heal on myself and my pet and we can move on to the next MoB.
So as a CM you can add the ability of diease and poison attacks to the repitoir I would say that would be one heck of a class
I'm enjoying it, but grouping with/against High Level Characters is a challenge. You can't Buff or Rez, and you can't deal out the damage of commandos/BH's...hell even Riflemen or Carbineers. The DOT cap is annoying as hell in PVE.
Maybe I will be more effective at master of both, but right now, it is a real challenge.
Getting low level groups through some of the tougher missions is kind of fun, though, and any single opponent will fall to you. But groups are tough.
I like it
It's great for PvP and really good for PvE. Area Stims are a life saver in huge PvP battles and the area disease/poison rocks

im a master cm and amaster pistoleer on bria and i love it. im still trying to figure out why CMs are complaining about getting owned in PVP because i dominate a lot of pvp.
Because most CMs also Master Doc as a secondary profession leaving them with only pistol 4 in the marksman tree. CM combined with an elite weapon skill can be pretty devastating.

It does get better at Master level. With the ability to create area poisons that tick for 450 damage, and the ability to spam Fan Shot, you can take out a decent sized group of NPCs or creatures without too much trouble. Before the nerf, I would take Storm Trooper camp missions and send my rock beetle in to tank them, lob an AoE poison, then blast away with Fan Shot. I could take out 4 STs and not even get scratched. It's a bit more challenging now, but I can still hit them with my poison, run out of range while the poison does it's damage, then wait for them to come to me and open fire with Fan Shot once they're in range.
Bottom line is, at Master Pistoleer and Master Combat Medic, Fan Shot and Area Health Poison C is a deadly combination. If you can manage to avoid getting hit while the poison does it's damage, you can take out good sized groups of NPCs without too much trouble.
However, in pvp, mind damage/poison/disease is essential, rifleman/cm works well for that.
Terribly fun. It's great for PvE and PvP. As said before, area health poison and fanshot works wonders on crowds.
Thefunny part is seeing people panic in PvP. The good pvp'rs will probably get you if they are heavy hitters, but most will fall pretty easily and run screaming from you (and then the tells come). Once the first 600+tick of poison comes on and then 20-30secs later the 200 wounds hit, people freak out.
Ranged heals are great in group, mind healing somewhat acceptable (only when necessary).
It's nice to be a good support class. I can group and be a somewhat good damage dealer, or I can solo some pretty decent mobs and npc's, or I can be purely a healer (though it sucks not being able to have rez).
It's pretty easy to throw the tide of some battles, but generally once i throw a poison or a heal, i'm one of the first targetted.
