How is it done? I'm a 0/1/4/2 pistoleer and have heard that soloing giant baz nitches on dathomir is the way to go but is there a certain technique you have to use? Or do I need a pet

a pet helps a lot, use prone, bleed, peace, stand and run away. The one you bled will come after you alone and it's nice if you can pin it a few meters away with a pet while the bleeds tick away and you hammer on the health bar.

No pet? you need /feign or some buffs to out last the baz.

Just a word of advice, if you ride your bike to the mission, park it far away. I've lost 2 so far to Baz's that ignore me and go straight for my ride. MOB's that grief, whats next?

If you have some scout skills and alternate between phenactine dart and adhesive mesh, the bazzies can't get to you.

I kill Rancor bulls by running them into packs of malklocs. Then I actually bleed the rancor and the malklocs as they take it out on each other, getting xp for all kills.

Believe it or not at 4/4/4/3 I'm soloing alot of animals and with the CH changes I have practicaly lost interest in using my pet to do so.....

what you do is :

1. get your self a macro of all your best attacks..... this is to include Warning shot if you look at the description you will see why.

2. Do health shot 2 to start your bleed cycle, then warn shot to chase your apponent off, then as it is running away do body shot, it will turn back at you so do another warn shot.....by this time the bleed will do damage to it so continue with the warn shot.

3 Continue with this untill your apponent is dead.. I've soloed Frenzied Grauls with this, only got incapped once and that was due to lag.

Could I use stopping shot or fan shot in place of bodyshot?

I can tank a giant baz nitch all day long.
I just buff myself, and put on a triple layered composite set.
The damage I take is so small that I regen it before they hit me again.
I'm sure with a good set of high kinetic ubese you could do the same thing.

Only if you get lucky and hit the health bar most of the time. Problem with the stopping shot is that it will hit random HAM. Using bodyshot makes sure you target health. Another trick to get a good bleed is to do a knockdown, then a healthshot/bleed-- the multiplier is very nice. Only thing is to make sure you can back off quickly enough by sticking a warning shot or covering fire on your target.

I'd avoid a fan in this situation-- you will probably wind up pulling multiple Baz's at the same time. The only time I use fan is if I already have aggroed everything in my area of effect. (ie.social mobs, mobs where you have -5000 faction and the entire camp bum rushes you.)

im master pistoleer and nearly master smuggler, this is my rutine to giant baz's.

get buffed heh

pick 2 missions for baz's to the west.

get to lair, shoot one, wait till its right up close and with dx2 equiped kd knockdown, delay shot, and spam body shot 2+3. with that combo i take out a baz in about 10 secs, if hes lucky, he'll get one hit on me and might get up from the kd. bodyshot's are good cos they target health only, so kinda makes all the other shots redundant right now. i might throw in a stopping shot for fun, or if i get aggroed by 4 at a time then a possible fanshot or MTPS. i dont even bother bleeding the critters cos by the time it actually kicks in, im onto the next one.

its a simple method with awesome results. can take out a lair in about 5-8 mins. depends if i use a muon for the ol mind.
