Here are some suggestions to questions that actually get answered. If someone could write the answers then we'd have a brand new, up to date FAQ!

SECTION ONE - Thinking about becoming a Pistoleer

1. Is Pistoleer comparable to Carbineer, Rifleman? How about Commando or Bounty Hunter?

2. Can I take out "tough" NPCs like Dark Troopers and Field Marshalls by myself as a Master Pistoleer?

SECTION TWO - Pistoleer's questions

1. Which tree is the best one to go down?

2. Which special is the best?

3. Which pistol is the best?

4. Where are the Pistoleer trainers located?

5. What are good creatures to kill to get XP?

SECTION THREE - Master Pistoleer's questions

(can't think of any)

I think that should do it. If anyone has any questions or would like to take a crack at answering one of the above, please do so! We've GOT to fix that terrible outdated FAQ!

A lot of the current FAQ could be added as an "ADVANCED" section, as it is very specific.

State of the Profession Report (Nov): "(the DX2 Pistol) is inferior to the pistols we can use as Marksman, which is why the vast majority of Pistoleers use FWG5 Pistols or Scout Blasters. The DX2 is by FAR the least accurate pistol in the game."

"Current" FAQ: "The DX2 looks to be the best overall pistol in the pistoleer certifications."

Oh dear.

SECTION THREE - Advanced Pistoleer questions

1. Which specials are currently broken?

2. Which pistols should I be wary of?

3. What other skills or attributes are not working correctly?

Since it sums up what's working and what'snot, I'd say this is thede facto FAQ:

It's an excellent post but it's hardly a FAQ! It doesn't answer frequently asked questions like "which pistol is the best"? or "what branch should I go down?" or even "where can I find a pistoleer trainer?".

Excellent! But you don't need to stick to "cold hard facts" (I mean tell the truth and everything but), people are people and they like to read conclusions, not just lists of facts. Section one, for example,is pretty easy:

1) Pistoleer is comparable to Carbineer and Rifleman, but it does have some bonus's like heathShot, which causes your enemy to bleed (and thus drains there HAM even when you're not shooting at them!).Commando and Bounty Hunter are more powerful professions, but they require a lot more effort to master.

2) You can take on small numbers of Dark Troopers and Field Marshalls with Pistoleer! But don't expect to be able to wipe out a room of them!

Both of those statements arefacts andthey answer the question. (For example with #2: If the question was about Marksman, then the answer would definitely be "no!")

Anyways, I'd love to see an updated FAQ so I didn't keep have ask about what branch was best etc

Thinking on: You know the list of "estimated damage per minute" or whatever it was. Could you write an explanation or conclusion at the bottom when you do the FAQ? The whole thing confused me, no end

I would disargee with this, there is no room for conjecture here, just the facts.

My opinions of the class do not affect the way you play your game, the raw damage numbers and equations can be used to tailor your toon to your style. For instance I believe fanshot is too ham intensive to be worthwhile except as a last resort, by the time you've tabbed and tagged everyone in the AOE you have taken a few shots and using fan drains your action pool very quickly, hard to take hits from multiple targets when one of your pools is gettin shallow. Others love fan and think it's the cats pajamas. Who is right? both of us. Which version makes it into the FAQ?

Questions deserve answers based in fact, not "what I think". Take a look at the jedi board if you want to see where piles of "I think" get you.

The answer is that BOTH opinions get put in the FAQ (so long as they're based on fact) and you tell the player the pros and cons, in real terms (not just numbers).Go to the other profession forums (like the Jedi one) to see a REAL FAQ.

This is a great idea ... as I mentioned in my "Status Update" post, we have to update our FAQ. I'm not sure about Section One -- profession comparisons will change from time to time, and it's best to stick on cold hard facts for new guys looking at the thread.

What I'd like to do with the FAQ is provide all the info in one place -- speed, damage mitigation, specials info, trainers, etc. I just need to find the time to do it.
