Thread: Holo's the only reason to Master Pistoleer
If it was not for a holo I would have never gone past stopping shot. Pistoleer is the weakest combat class there is! Rifleman shoot faster and 3x times harder. All of the brawler classes will out damage 3 & 4xand some even out defend!
There is no combat class that has more broken specials than Pistoleer. I am so ticked at it that I wellshoot off fire works when I drop all these wasted skillpoints! Im sure I will be a Master Pistoleer long enought to log out and log back in to open a new holo!
I see a lot of players that say Pistoleer is great when you combine it with another combat profession! We should put it will it below's in the Support Class Professions. Make it Tree off of Medic.
Sorry for there I just had to rant a bit.
I feel your pain. Was really enjoying my carbineer specials when the almighty holocron said pistoleer. Takes me 2x as long to kill anything.
Pistols are supposed to be fast, but i was firing just as fast with my carbines and doing much more damage w/ much better specials.
Oh yeah, and now i have to be right next to anything to knock it down for 2 seconds.

well TKM overpowered, Rifleman Overpowered not pistoleer Underpowered.. wheres the fun in PvP when its over in one KD/dizzy and some TKMs 5 style macro?!
They need to re balance PVP so much i hope this damage mitigation crap makes it better.
Well With master smuggler Master pistoleer is great. Mixing up panicshot and fanshot I can take out as many as 6 whites at a time as long as i have room to kite. Being able to shot last ditch at 1 ever 1.2 seconds mean I do serious damage as much as 12500 in 10 seconds thats not to shabby.
Once they do the combat balance and fix all the broken specials I think Master Pistoleer will be a very good profession. Right now you need to augment it with either BH or smuggler to really get its full value.

The problem right now, San, is that Pistoleer ONLY works right now if you are a Smuggler or a BH. Pistoleer should work for players who don't have the powerful specials from other professions because they want to be something besides a Smuggler or BH.
Hopefully, as you said, they'll fix Pistoleer in the upcoming combat balance.
I agree that the pistol specials should all be fixed, and that our guns' damages shouldbe upped,but I do pretty well being a master pistoleer (it just takes a little while longer). I was never just master pistoleer though, so I may be a little biased. I was master combat medic before (and still am)and can solo quite a bit (that's solo without pets). The other night I took out 7 stormtroopers and 2 stormcommandos with ease, but I have the luxury of being able to heal myself and to inflict area poisons on my enemies.
I disagree with people who say don't use armor, I'm always wearing a near full ubese or composite suit, and rely on my auto fire when I know I'll be low on mind soon.
PvP is a lot harder for a master pistoleer though as mobs are pretty predictable.
I rarely have trouble with master riflemen and master carabineers, or plain master bh's (not bh/master pistoleer hybrids, or master pistoleer/smuggler hybrids), and I'm 50/50 with commandos (all of this is estimation, of course). All of these situations are one-on-one deals, being duels or random encounters with opposing overt members.
But again, please fix the specials devs, I'm tired of relying on only a few specials.
I think the one thing that needs to be fixed for all things is Weaknesses. Why are we gonn ahve pistols that differ from Heat, to Acid, etc.. When they all do the same damage. If I attack something stong against Acid, my DX2 pistol does the same damage as if they were weak to it. It make no sense.
I haqve to admit, I am going master pistoleer in hopes it fixes up. Mainly because with master doctor, I don't have enough points to go up Smuggler or BH as well. I hope they implement a dual wield so we can hold to pistols. (Of course if they do that they will nerf the attack speed and make it take twice as long to fire.)
