Thread: Finally a Master Pistoleer. Any pearls of wisdom?
Good lord that last stretch of combat experience was a pain in the butt.
Time to rearrange the hotkeys, I suppose. 1 button anyway. Body Shot 3 is finally worth using now, right? And I can destroy lairs faster with Disarming Shot 2? I made a macro for it, even.
In all seriousness, Body Shot 3 is worth using now. The speed modifier at Master finally results in it doing more damage than Body Shot 2. I'm honestly not sure about Disarming Shot 2. I haven't tried using it myself. I do know that I tested Disarming Shot 1 against Fan Shot, and Fan Shot was consistently doing more damage to lairs. Stopping Shot did more damage than all of them, but because it's so slow and has a higher HAM cost, I now use Fan Shot to take out lairs.
Come to think of it, I use Fan Shot for just about everything now. It's fast, it does good damage, and it hits multiple targets. About the only time I don't use Fan Shot is when I want to avoid hitting a secondary target for one reason or another (ie, when killing creatures but want to avoid hitting the lair so as not to cause another spawn). I even use Fan Shot as my main attack in PvP (but Lord what I wouldn't give for a good state effects shot). Stopping Shot does more damage, but unless you've got one of those ultra uber Pre-nerf 1.0 speed Krayt enhanced FWG5s, it's too slow to be as effective as Fan Shot.
Pistol Melee Defense 1 can still save your butt. I can't tell you how many times I've found myself in close quarters with a high damage class character (ie, Commando) facing a fairly certain death, only to slap him upside the head with PMD1 and knock him to the ground. A few well placed shot on my prone target, and I've lived to fight another day. Just don't try using it on TKAs. It won't knock them down, and all it will end up doing is putting exactly where they want you (yes, I found this out the hard way). Nonetheless, if you find you've got your back to a wall and a Commando is close and about to spray you with his flamethrower, Pistol Whip his @ss.

if you have no other combat skills apart from master gunfighter i suggest you familiarize yourself with the cloning center and insurance terminal or else pick up dirty fighting from smuggler ![]()

Did you notice that Disarming Shot 2 is AE? Something you may want to peek at.
BodyShot3 is better than BodyShot2 at Master if you have a pistol that is 1.8 speed or faster, I think. (I forget the exact number -- it's either 1.8 or 1.9)
I never use DisarmingShot2. They never lowered the HAM cost when they took out the knockdown. Just use DisarmingShot1.
Yes we're very aware that it's an AOE attack ... it used to be an AOE knockdown.

No point in using it at the moment, however.

hehe best thing to d onow is come on the boards and start whining about MTPS and disarm shot 2 intil the devs fix it. thats what the rest of us seem to do.
