hey guys, I tried researching this before posting, forgive me if i missed, but why is our correspondant, ignoring the biggest issue which plagues us? our speed/DPS?

whats this crazy guy talking about? well consider this.... there is no speed cap on carbine/rifle weapons, so basically they get complete damage over speed if they get a nice quick gun

well we have higher DPS, oh great, but you know guys, with all your spreadsheats, you forget the biggest problem, if you go down in a few hits, your doing complete nerf balls, thats right, our guns shoot little small nerf balls, they bounce off our opponents, oh wait, lemme use stopping shot, ahhh, what a shame, thats only a bigger nerf ball, bounces off them still

there needs to be a cap set for carbines/rifles and pistols, and ours should be .5, I do zero damage half the time, why not let me do more zero damage?

dodge is nice..... if it works, fought a master rifleman strafe shot... KAPOW!!, some other wierd shot.... KAPOW, i got hit 4 times by super strong attacks, then a ranged deathblow, from all this i dealt maybe 100 damage from 6 shots, 2 missed and each hit for like 20-40 damage, and i of course, dodged zero of his attacks.

wasn't this the whole point of the weapon system?

pistoleers weakest damage, fastet attack

carbines medium damage, medium speed

rifles heavy damage, slow speed

quite unbalanced if there is NO speed cap for those goons

and no i'm not some newbie, i'm 1 block from master, and my DX2, which i think is nice does 150-200 danage 2.4 speed, and has super high mods thanks to my ultra nice scope

your thoughts guys.......

yeah, the way speed works in the game is already one of our "Top 5 Issues."

Unfortunately, the devs can't fix it without riflemen and carbiniers screaming at the top of thier lungs. I'm hoping that a workable alternative is found... but either our DPS needs to be tripled, or the Rifleman's needs to be reduced by roughly 66%.

But yeah, I don't think that ANY alternative suggested will make the riflemen happy. They like being quite possibly the most overpowered profession in the game, and I can't say I blame them. However, I CAN blame them for thier continued bid for power...

While speed is a major issue for us and has been since we posted our first list, I wonder at yer tactics. Don't stand at 50m from a rifleman and trade shots, you will lose. In the 4 seconds it took him to land his 4 shots ( assuming he was a master) you should have been able to close and show him the but of your gun. We will never be a rambo class that dishes out massive damage and never needs to worry about defense. A rifleman at ideal range will smoke you every time. It is not where we are strong, we should be best at smokin a TKA on his way in, or making carbineers look funny while we run and gun and they keep tryin to keep us in ideal range. Sadly this is not the case, but we will NEVER spit out more dps than our heavy hittin brethren. We were never s'posed to.

The devs have said the using a number that is not a whole number as a speed cap will mess up the servers. Not sure how or why, but this is a pretty definate NO on a .5 second speed cap. So the only way we get to be any faster than anyone else is to nerf the hell out of all the other ranged combat proffs, not a good plan at all. Nerfs have already ruined a lot of this game and I don't want to help ruin anything else.

Who knows, maybe the devs have come up with some new and exotic way to screw us all equally and let us gain some speed. We will have to wait till the "combat pass" to tell what is in store. I wouldn't get yer hopes up tho.

And while reserching this did you happen to look at the thread titled "dev responses to our top 5"? Speed is on there, just like it always has been. It's not Philo's fault you don't/can't read.
