Ok, I'm not sure which of these is better (for the sake of argument assume the target has no resistance or equal heat and acid resistance):

FWG5: 71-244 damage and 1.8 speed

DX2: 127-200 damage and 2.5 speed

Just so you know, I'm a 3-0-4-4 pistoleer.

The DX2 does more damageand has armor piercing but thw FWG5 is faster thus does more damage per second (I'm not sure how my speed mods affect my DX2).

Ok, I found the speed formula and calculated the damage per second on the pistols:

FWG5: 157.5 damage/sec

DX2: 142.2 damage/sec

The FWG5 does 15 more damage, so is the armor piercing and acid damage on the DX2 make up for the inferior damage?

in almost every case, i would take the FWG

For a no resistance/no armor mob then use the FWG5. Once you start getting resists and AR then the DX2 is more valuable.
