Thread: Republic Blaster Testing.
Hi all,
After the certification fix I decided to go out and buy myself one of these ye olde republic blasters that appear to be all the rage at the moment among high society in theed.
After testing the blaster out at my ballistics lab I found it to have the following somewhat intresting stats.
Damage: 64 - 203
Min: 0 at 0m
Ideal: -24 at 0m
Max: 0 at 64m
These results appeared quite strange and led me to doubt the calibration of my test equipment so I decided to take my tests out into the field.
Kneeling some 60m away from a herd of kaduu I found the weapon to have a accuracy of -9 at my somewhat low pistol skill level.
This compares with both my DX2 and FWG5 that gave the more familier -50 at this long range.
After taking a few shots it became apparent that this blaster was exceptionally accurate at this range as kaduu fell to my bodyshot2 500+ damage hits before they could reach me.
When closing the range I found the results to be less good with the accuracy falling off quickly as I moved towards 0m, a strange result indeed for a pistol weapon.
In conclusion all I can think is that there was some long lost art to making very long range pistols that are exceptionally easy to use back in the days of the old republic that has been lost to modern weapon smiths.
All in all a great sniping pistol that would make even the most skilled rifleman envious and an ideal scout hunting weapon, one has to wonder is this was the intended result of the designers?

I've yet to understand why anyone kneels to attack a lair. I've yet to ever "miss" a lair...before I got my first bubble of pistol in marksman taking squall lairs on rori, I never missed a lair.
Does it increase damage?
it is mis-labelled as a pistol, it is, in fact, a Jawa snipers rifle on a mono-pod. That or they used to be much smaller fighters in the old days.
It's not a pistol. It's a glue gun.
I kneel because my legs get tired when I'm shooting 64k HP lairs for over 5 minutes at a time with no mobs left in them.
Wouldn't it be nice if the "double damage to empty lairs" fix actually worked all the time?
