Thread: Help with my Predicament
I am not trying to post something that someone else had posted for. I have used search and all other means to try to figure out the best possible way to grind to get to fan shot. Whenever someone gives advice on grinding pistol XP, they always talk of using fan shot to get major XP. Well im as sure as hell having a hard time just getting to Pistol tech 4!
After 5 days of hard playing; i have just gotten 0-0-1-0, andI hear of people getting to master pistoleer in the same amount of days. I really need to know how in the world to grind up to pistol tech 4, but i really dont know how. I have done the squill caves, fort tuskanhunted on dan and dath with still getting the same results of 500-1k xp per kill with a group. I just recently got a tank with my ch skills being at 0-0-1-0 and i buffed myself, but i still find myself dying alot. i cant afford to buy ubese armor or not much else at that matter. I really wish to get Xp faster but im making such slow progress. Could someone please tell me what i should do, maybe what creatures i couldkill that could get me some XP.Just tell me how to get to fan shot!!!

Get some Ubese Armour. At least 60% Kinetic, you should be able to pick up 70%.
The ubese will make it harder to spam specials, stock up on a food/drink that buffs A secondaries (I like Tatooine Sunburn).
If you don't want to go the armour route, get a tank, as others have suggested. Level 10 max for non-ch so get a BE one. On Bria, my server, we can get 7-8k HAM pets with fairly average resists for about 70k, from good BEs.
Get a gun that's capable of dealing good DPS (damage per second). Ignore people who tell you to get a pre-nerf krayt unless you can afford one. I have a non-krayt fwg5 that does, with slice, 260 dmg and 1.8 speed. Fit your gun to your target (e.g. dx2for acid vulnerable targets). Just get good guns, scour your server for a good weaponsmith.
Right so you've got a tank and/or armour and a good selection of guns....
Pick a planet to hunt on and mobs you can take. I picked Dant and Pikets for my pistoleer grind. 3-4k xp a mob, 5k for the lair, nearly 10k cash a mission. Once you get fanshot you'll realise why its so good.... Area affect. You'll be shooting 3 pikets or more (if u want to multi spawn the lair) for 500-1500 damage a hit, per mob. Until then use doubletap and open with bleeds. Take lots of pet stims 
Double tap u should be doing 400-800 damage a hit, bleed1 and 2 stacked u can do about 800 damage a "tick" (20 seconds i think).

I took my time getting master pistoleer. I did missions with friends, alot of squill missions. You can get 15-25k xp every one you do. And it's alot more fun having some people with you than going on your own.
If you can get a decent group together, try going to one of the many caves. The squill cave can give over 200k xp and it takes about 20-30 minutes (sometimes). Whatever you do try to have fun because grinding just sucks.

with 80% composite .... going for DF 4 and 0444 pistoler, it moves fast ....even tho i do more dmg wiht a gun at all heheh
I like to hunt fambaas and the really large bols on naboo since its close to my shop (I'm a weaponsmith as well). One killer combat tool I've been using to my advantage is....a medium mineral harvestor.
Yes a harvestor. I'll go prone, hit a fambaa with health 1 and 2, hit peace, move away about 80m and then wait for it to come after me. I will then run behind a harvestor and watch as it charges into the harvestor without being able to get to me. Then I can shoot it at my leisure. I don't even have to use specials since I can take all the time I need to bring it down. Generally do hit it with specials though in the interest of time.
I don't need armor and I don't need buffs (although it can be helpful). and I can get 3800 xp per fambaa. The funny thing is you can evenn do this with melee weapons although only the specials will work in the range you need to be without getting hit.
Its cheap, I know but effective.
Where on Naboo is the are where u can find fambaa? I think thats a great way to get XP

I went to the squill cave and only got around 1k XP. with a small group. Could you explain a little better on how you got so much Xp on the squill caves? What is better doing squill missions or doing the caves?
Oh and thank everybody for the posts Ive got some good ideas to make this grinding faster then where i am going now. Oh and i would love even more different ways.

I like to make regular trips to the Narglatch cave outside of Moenia...
Depending on how long it's been since the last group cleared it out and how many other people are hunting there, I can usually pick up 30k-60k per trip.
With doc buffs and armor, I can solo the place pretty effectively without a pet and with Bodyshot 2 as the hardest hitting special I have available to my alt, which got Pistoleer as a holo profession.
If I use my main Smuggler / Pistoleer, I can blow through it with impunity and out damage anyone else who happens to be there hunting...
