I am a master CM, 0440 doctor, and I'm looking for a decent way to spend my extra points. I am primarily going to be PVP, so I mainly want something to finish the job that my poisons started, mainly to hit a few points of mind to incap someone

I've noticed (through a little experimentation) that hitting with a pistol, even without using specials, still does a little bit of mind damage each hit.

Am I wrong about this? and does it work with Fan shot?

Regular attacks, and many specials, do random pool damage. Body shot and Heal Shot are both targeted, anything else does random pool damage (including regular attack).

If you're looking specifically for mind damage though, riflemen have a special that hits mind (just like our Body Shot hits health). You might be better off with that - hit with a mind poison, keep your distance, and finish off the rest. Either will probably work though - as a pistoleer I finished off the mind poison's work more than once .

Thanks for the info -- I was aware of all those things, but my question was a little different:

Iwas under the impression that non-targeted shots would hit ONE random pool, but my tests show that they are doing a lot of damage to one pool, and a little to the other two, all froma single shot. So it would seem that a single pistol hit would always finish off someone with +1 mind, even if the main pool it hit was H or A.

I'm wondering if this always works this way, or if it won't happen with Fan Shot or if the target is heavily armored or something.

Anyway, I'd rather go with Pistol than Rifle, because Pistol seems to be more useful when you only have a few skill points to spend.

well anything compliments CM as we can effect all pools without bias. ofcource we always go with the mind poison/disease. i found that a spraystick and spamming headshot 1 works to counter the +1 hp rule course if yer using pistol just switch poisons same with carbine. i personaly liked to have some decent hittin power and went with carbine, i just use action poison and can use legshots, its alot better than using reg attach and hoping y ahit the intended pool. hope i helped

H and A are too easy to heal

I read that every shot does 80% to one pool and 10% each to theother 2 pools. Im not sure if the percents are accurate but if you are just trying to incap people with 1 hp of mind then fanshot will do the trick.
