Thread: Pondering this template after BH change

I dont recall having heard this, but what do you guys think?


As a wookie i NEED good defense mods, or i just flat out get owned. (until the new armor comes out, which SHOULD be soon)


Regardless im keeping the mindset that we will always be armor-lacking compared to composite.


So keeping all that in mind, what about this:

Master Pistoleer

Master Marksman

BH pistols

Pikeman 0040


Pikeman gives melee mitigation 2, along with across the board defenses. The Fencer tree lacks because the stat bonuses are all in different lines. I dont know, im currently master fencer, pistoleer 3043 (master soon enough), and nobody can hit me. i'll definatly miss that



I just look at Smuggler, i see the benifits, but the total lack of defense... Perhaps TKA defenses would be good, hm i need to crunch those numbers

EDIT: Oh just wondered if you knew with the new way they set up BH you'll still have 12 Skill Points left over

Interesting idea. I have a couple to share too.

Tempelate 1:
Master Marksman
Master Pistoleer
0-0-4-0 Bounty Hunter
4-0-0-0 Scout
0-4-0-0 Brawler
4-0-3-0 Fencer

Important stuff you get:
Ranged Damage Mitigation 3+ Melee Damage Mitigation 2
89 Ranged Defense
121 Melee Defense
Capped on Pistol Speed

Fencer: for the ranged+melee defense bonuses and the Melee Mitigation

Tempelate 2:
Novice Medic
0-0-3-0 BH
4-0-0-0 Scout
Master Marksman
Master Pistoleer
3-0-0-0 Fencer
0-4-0-0 Brawler

Important stuff:
Can heal self, still get good defenses.
Downsides:
No Torso Shot or Melee Mitigation

I'm pretty set out on the first tempelate

i thought melee mitigation only works when equipping a melee weapon


but tha'ts also weird cause smuggler gets ranged and melee mitigation 1.... would make more sense if they used unarmed somewhere in the profession besides a pre-requisite

I Believe it works only if your opponent is attacking you with a melee weapon(hence, range mitigation only works when your opponent is attacking you with a ranged weapon

EDIT: Your fix for my 2nd tempelate would work with 6 Skill Points left over

With that I will probabaly get 0-4-0-1 TKA for some more melee and ranged defenses

This is almost the same as the one i suggested in another post, but i wonder, would it be better to do 3040 in Fencer, you get a boost in your State defenses with only a small loss of melee and renged defense. Any fencer comment on which is more important? BTW torso shot is one of the most important shots that a pistoleer can use, its got a decent damage mod (can someone tell me whatit is) and it puts a rather nasty burn on the target.

with food i could reduce the kd/posture problem, so maybe TKA 0003 + novice medic on that template with 6 left over...
OR pick up flamethrower 1 for an extra dot?

You could pick up Flame 1, but it wouldn't be that useful seeing the new 3 second delay between switching weapons and armor

Im master fencer currently....

im going master pistoleer, bh pistols 0040, fencer (2 lines)

which lines do i keep?

Smuggler specials aren't worth the skills points...don't bother in my opinion.
