not really a combat profession? We have two lines in our tree that require pistol xp. Both of the certifications for novice smuggler are combat xp types. (pistol and unarmed)
we don't get ANY defensive mods, accuracy/speed mods... any new certs...
oh yeah and one of the pistol trees has NOTHING to do with combat... but we need over 1 mil pistol xp for it..
you are wrong in saying we are not a combat profession, to tell the truth we are an OK combat profession (just specials) and an OK crafting profession...
In general...
It's a terrible profession as is...
We need SOMETHING! to help us...
melee damage mitigation (even +1 or +2) would go a LONG way
but I have faith
we don't get ANY defensive mods, accuracy/speed mods... any new certs...

I agree....smuggler should get some mods. They dont get **edit** right now. And they are pistol users. I think they should get a smuggler only pistol also

To get back on topic, it looks like the Devs have pulled Damage Mitigation off the table ... at least for the time being. I think that's probably a good move on their part.

Hmmm, that's nice and all, but now can combat professions expect anything new with the next patch?
New HAM is gone for now, Damage Mitigation, all that's left are Vehicles(which are definately cool).
Here's hoping some Top 5 make it in somewhere

Pistoleers get to keep fanshot AoE which is still pretty awesome. I know it isn't quite what everyone was hoping for but I am really really hoping that SOE fixes the broken specials with their upcoming Combat Pass. A lot of the Devs have responded that they are "really freakin busy" so they are really freakin busy doing SOMETHING. MTPS has to get some attention right? right???

They are devoting all of their resources to get in the things that didn't make launch, hoping that everything else was fine as-is. Every day I keep checking the boards looking for responses to "Top 5"'s - for any profession really. I should really stop, at the very earliest, combat changes will be here in 2 patches.
I get the bad feeling that this "combat pass" will just be the fullfilment of some of the posted Top 5, and not a complete combat pass. Then they will just move on to other large projects(ie: Creature/NPC revamp, Space Expansion) thinking they solved everything by giving the professions 1-5 fixes each.

Ugh...so we may or may not get the HAM change, and we aren't getting the Damge Mitigation....so what ARE we getting? Kick in the groin?
