Glad that this is what I thought it was about. I'd love to be able to be like the gunslingers in Dark Tower. We need holsters and we need dual wield. Oh, and profession-specific clothes. The gunman's duster is okay, but it's more Wyatt Earp/Tombstone than Dark Tower.

Also, if you're a Dark Tower fan, you need to read Black House. A LOT. Also, Hearts in Atlantis, and really pretty much every King book published after Drawing. He's weaving a tapestry, and though I really want to see the finished piece, I'll be sad too. I'd prefer he keep it going forever.

It's not the East or the West side (No it's not) It's not the North or the South side (No it's not) It's the Dark Side! (You are correct) You can't front on the Empire! To all you Vader-haters out there... We'll blow your planet up!

I had never seen these books before (wasnt that big of a King fan in the past), but based on this thread I decided to pick up the first DT book. After amazon finally got the book to me 2 weeks later, I read it yesterday, and I must say that I was thouroughly impressed. There were a few quirks I didnt care for (and Im hoping that they get explained in the next few books), but overall I absolutely loved the action and the thought that went into this.

Excellent book, thanks for the thread! Now if I could just get my hands on the other books....

Its not that I didnt understand, its that I wasnt quite satisfied with the explanations that were given. Namely, Jake's origins and how he ended up in the Gunslingers world. I understand exactly what King is saying, I just hope that he expounds on it in the other books. I liked the book though, it was very entertaining, its just that those few little tidbits are sorta knawing at me for the moment. Anyway, Im picking of Calling of the Three tonight, so I'll probably have a bettergrasp of it all tommorow. Thanks!

Drawing of the three, and yes it all is made clear. Now if you will like the explinations or not, well thats a toss up.

I'm reading Wizard and Glass now. Thinking about dropping Rifleman and going TKA/Pistoleer/Smuggler. I've had enough of this holocron business and rifleman.

I tried making a character named Roland Deschain too, even Steven Deschain, but both were taken.

I love the title but the skills definitely suck in the tree. Reading the Dark Tower books didnt cause me to choose pistoleer though. (It was a thug NPC that used pistol whip on me.. I thought that was the coolest thing ever! It was until the big nerf anyway..)

Ye speak true, the skills are lacking, but I dont play enough to care that much. It's more role play for me and I think things will get better.
