I ALWAYS use 16 min / 33.5 % max powerups from patch day for PVP (for guns 2.8 speed and lower, which i can cap with my 91 speed from my attachments) and i use speed powerups for guns i cant cap. I try to get a "twin" for all of my best guns (LOTS of high end tissue) so that i can rotate the usage to bring the individual devcay slower, and i repair my weapons at 50% usually. Because i still have krayt weaponry taht dates back to december in relatively good condition, and i pvp like a madman also. I treat my guns with respect, and by that , i mean i use them to their absolute potential. not using powerups is your own choice, but it in no way means you treat your weapons poorly. krayt tissue is pretty easy to come across, and considering i dont own any pistols with under + 87 tissue used in them and ive got over 40 krayt pistols (not counting my prenerfs) its pretty simple to show taht its not that hard to come by if you hunt krayts frequently enough or have enough money or teh connections to obtain the tissue either. (i used to hunt krayts fairly often and have a rather large stockpile of tissue still ~ 20 sets of varied stats left)

Weapons are better used than appreciated 
Besides, relatively rare and powerful weapons like a good DE-10 are only used for PvP and not for PvE. If you want to PvE, there are plenty of other options like the DX2 or FWG5. But when it comes to PvE, nothing beats having a good DE-10 or Geonosian Blaster and having them powered-up gives you that extra 33% damage which could make all the difference.

i spent 150k TOTAL on the first 2 i had made. not including the buffs i used to get the stuff.
