Thread: Rough Draft for Pistoleer Special attacks and testing/FAQ
I did a test with Kandorr the other day (note, before the big patch) and damage done by pistol (target nakid) was always 80% of the value in the chat window. Chat window showed exact same value as the value that ticked over the target's head.
We measured our health bars like this:
1) Note the the current halth.
2) Shoot BS2
3) Read off the health value on the bar (hovering with mouse over it).
Comare with the chat window value -- result damage in PvP reduced by 80%
We aso did another test with Scout Blaster and FWG5 and Laser Carbine (armor piercing 2) against mbari (armor1 and some energy resits, no heat resist) that had about 50+% durability and wore body, head, legs, belt, gloves, boots.
Did about 20 normal shots against target. about 30-50% shots were resisted by 50% if FWG5 (heat), or 51-ish % if Scout (energy).
If I used Laser Carbine, _NO_ damage was absorbed whatsover.
Conslusion:
--- PVP Damage reduced b 20%
--- Player Armor absorbs some percentage of shots done by armor 0 weapons. If it absorbs, it absorbs 50% of the damage, then some additional damage depending on the resist % of that dmg type.
--- Player armor does not absorb AR 2 and possibly does not absorb AR 1 weapons.

I just parsed another move to add to my chart:
Special Move (Combat window name): Dmg multiplier, Range, Notes
Point Blank Area 2 (Hold-Out Blast): 4.5, Range ~13m
I also verified that this move is currently broken (as many others have reported) and does not target multiple creatures. It only fires at your current target. The 4.5 dmg multiplier is quite nice, though. It is second only to Stopping Shot, and fires much faster. So if this gets fixed it will make an excellent move for slamming multiple targets and could actually be our highest DPS shot when used on 2 or more targets.
If it doesn't get fixed then it is worthless because if you are at 13m anyway, just step forward and use pistol melee defense 2 which is higher dps.

Two-Handed Curved Sword @ 2.0 delay
Speed Skill Mod = 50
I swing every second.
(I tested it with a fairly strong lair: 19 swings in 19 second)
