Don't be like Jar Jar. ^_^
Ok, the republican blaster thing was awsome! but the stuff about liberalism, no no no! The general population as no virtue ( the willingness to put aside your own self-interests in favor of the good of the general population ) so if liberals want to take away some of your "freedoms" it's because it would help everyone out in long run. the one freedom the republicans took away that I will miss is going to other countries, everyone hates america because we have to flex our muscles. And america is a lot safer now that we've killed a bunch of islamic people, with every terrorist we kill, ten more are being created. and I sure am glad the rebublicans are fighting for everyone's right to use a car or truck that gussles gas, polutes the atmospher, jacks up the price of gas, everyone should have that right!
Ohh no, this isnt a political site, sorry, plus debating in posts dont work, i'll quit. so um yeah, thats why imperial pistoleers take away your freadoms, cuz people shouldnt have them! I support the republican blaster, now i can blast republicans IN THE GAME- not in real life, important distinction.

Liberalismis like the Evil Empire becauseit want to crush everything that stands for goodness, truth, and morality. Conservatism is like the Rebellion because being a Conservative means you're rebelling against the flavor of the month opinion that dumb people take just because their favorite celebrity is a Liberal.lmao it's so true.........

/cryand as for the geo caves..... get a DX2!!
i cannot stress this enough.... the crazed geonosians are vulnerable to acid and like 35% resistant to energy
Crap. I went there buffed and solo, was a near-master pistoleer and TKM... got rooked by the medium-armor doorguards. I could take them, but it was long minutes of fighting and worth only 5k. So if I get down inside, there's acid-vulnerable kills? I was stuck using my so-so fwg5 on firebreathing klikniks.
Crap.

WOKAY! This'll teach me to spend the morning reading Grant Morrison's 'The Invisibles'
Firstly, I'm one of those awful people that believe that Ronald Reagan, Mr. Bush the First, Mr. Clinton, Mr. Bush the Second and likely Mr. Kerry when he very unfortunately wins the election on behalf of the two parties that are actually the same party designed to keep us all fighting amongst ourselves while the fat evil pigs at the top grow fatter on our misery, are mass freakin murderers, assassins of joy, and representatives of those terrified of our ability to breathe free air, think for ourselves, and not buy the products they assail our self esteem with to sell. Just giving you a little background so you can tune me out ahead of time and call me a liberal so you can feel justified in not listening to an objective point of view. Now... to your points.
I believe perhaps erikriker made a typo and meant to say that the general population HAS no virtue. And while I disagree with this statement as a blanket assessment of the US people, I do agree that a few less rich idiots driving SUV's around at a whole 6 to 10 miles a gallon in an effort to impress other rich idots with the symbols of their status would not be an entirely bad thing. Do I drive a car? Yes. Because like anyone else in our society the way it currently works, I have to go to work too. I also drive a 13 year old Geo metro that gets three to four times the mileage of Mr. Young Urban Professional with a 2004 Hummer over there. I actually DO believe that we should outlaw the freakin things. They are completely un-necessary to the majority of their owners, who do not use them to haul lumber, or scale mountains by driving vertically up them, or any of the other things you see in the omnipresent SUV commercials. All they do is drive to work and around towns on paved roads with them. They're drinking the world's fossil fuel supply at record rates, when the internal combustion engine has been technically obsolete for at least 30 years.
What about outlawing lawnmowers? Sure. Quiet electric ones have already been invented. Why not? Personally, I'm quite allergic to the pollen that sprays out into the air when every Hank freakin Hill in the southeastern United States comes out to take the top quarter inch of grass off their arguable domain every 7 days.
I have not bought into the idea that we're doing our moral duty by dutifully lining up, being afraid of the rest of the world and putting our human rights into tha hands of those that would use that fear to dictate terms to us about how we should live, think, love, and fear whilst wearing the mask of piety and strutting about dressed in the american flag.
As for socialist propoganda, well... I hate to break it to you, but we already live in a modernized capitalist and socialist society already. For Democracy to work, we'd have to, you know, actually have one where choice mattered, and every vote counted, and we didn't have the dubious choice of the lesser evil dictated to us every 2 to 4 years by the same two indistinguishable parties. I'm not really crazy about the French either, (except for those GORGEOUS women and their artwork) But they have a great saying. 'Plus ca change...' Which pretty much sums up the state of our supposedly representative government. 'The More Things Change, The More They Stay the Same.'
As for the gasoline consumption, OPEC and the Terrorists... I have surprised myself at times. As down as I can be on our government, I feel that the heart of our country is still made of people that would rather be the good guys. Hell, I was even a cub scout back in the days when no-one cared what a 10 year old's sexual orientation was. (For the record, I'm quite het.) As down as I can be, I've caught myself during the drive to work listening to the news making my own speeches to no one in particular. Presidential ones for an office I haven't a hope or prayer of ever achieving. Ones in which I apologize to the christian, jewish, and muslim people of our great nation as I inform them of my decision to unilaterally withdraw our forces, peoples and financial support from the middle east altogether.
I go on saying, "The conflicts there have raged for thousands of years. Not tens. But THOUSANDS. And the conflict and division of ideology is based in a difference of religious faith. As the seperation of church and state are set in our constitution, I cannot in good conscience provide the blood of our heroic young soldiers or the financial support of the taxpayers of the united states to further the aims and cause of such conflicts on one side or the other. I cannot imagine that any show of temporary force or attempt to force peace at the end of a gun will result in anything but the resentment of the middle eastern populace, resentment of our arrogance in enforcing onto them a way of life clearly not wanted simply as a pretext to preserve our access to their fossil and mineral resources. They will ask us for peace when they are ready for it and not before. I believe our resources might be better spent ensuring the futures of OUR children by helping our own sick and hungry, our poor and disaffected. I believe we can use the money to investigate new and alternative energy sources, to break ourselves from the yoke of fossil fuels. Thereby becoming a more self sufficient, cleaner and healthier country for our pains." and blah blah blah woof woof.
Will I vote for Nader? Probably. Do I expect change? Not really. Would I leave the country if I had the money to? (this addressed to the folks that are saying by now, 'you don't like the US? Get out!') Maybe. It tears at my heart to think of leaving my beloved country. It tears at my heart to see it progressing in the inevitable direction it seems to be going in as well. I should look into what it takes to be elected as a judge or perhaps the supreme court. One does not, or at least should not, have to have multiple PhD's and the endorsement of political action committees to know the difference between right and wrong. Simply far thinking vision and a desire to prevent injustice. And that I've got in abundance.
Why do I bother? Who knows. Politics and opinions of state are like the convictions of a lover. Easier to drink the ocean with a slotted spoon than try and argue with a person that 'knows' they're right. How much harder still when the powers that need resisting in the first place have TOLD them they're right and that everyone else is wrong?
(End, hopefully, of rants about the wretched old real world.)
Weren't we talking about shooting Geonosians? Acid damage... Cool! I have a decent DX-2! Not a Krayt one, but I got mine from Kanae Nightstalker back in September. And it does me fine! Gotta see who's going out there tonight...
Both LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE IDEOLOGIES can be spun either way. So rather than get into a real political debate....lets make this fun. Where does our government fit into the SWG universe?
Well let's see.....
Broken Economy. ( although improving)
Strange similarities between the Patriot Act and the Imperial Crackdown.
Vehicles have become more expensive to keep on the road
The Genosian Caves resemble Saddam's secret lab of WMD's . (Except in SWG there's proof that it exists)
Rebels are now being referred to as EvilDo'ers
The Imperials are a racist organization.
And everyone in the galaxy thinks the imperials are self-serving with no regards for the masses, except of course, the imperials themselves.
Every Rebel terrorist has a gun
Anyway Im sure there's more, feel free to continue the list. I think it's funny.
But guys, don't waste your time trying to sell your spiel on why Conservatives/republicans are better than libs/dems and vice versa. It's a waste of time, and it shamefully reminds us all of how polarized our great nation has become simply because of political propaganda. Beginning with the end of the Clinton regime, political propaganda has turned our country into one giant he said/she said confrontational political ideologies.I was so proud of our our country for the way we all came together in the aftermath of 9/11. Unfortunately, things have continuously deteriorated since then.
The sad part is....while so many of us regurgitate the myriad of altered truths in order to champion our political favorites and ideals, it is we, the people, who suffer the most while the current administration and politicians are all profiting both personally and professionally from our country's lack of ability to become more aligned idealogically.
Thanks! It's not so much an anger with people just trying to live their lives. I'm thinking more the hyper rich making millions a year and the like. The energy corporations and oil money, the owners of Wal Mart and Phillip Morris, and generally, corporations that gouge or serve no useful purpose other than to generate as much money from as much of the populace as possible with as little compensation or effort as they can get away with. You know. The ones constantly being dragged into court over the last 3 or 4 years to account for grand and national scale wrongdoing with money the size of some countries' GNP? And while I do think Mr. Bush is a sort of moron, it's more on the scale of being a massively unwise and vengeful leader. For my own part, I think his hick grammar and seeming doofyness is an act meant to cover what he is. An Ivy League educated, Oil Connected and Ruthless Businessman that is also the son of the former head of the CIA. Not stupid, just massively unwise.
But yeah. I've always been terribly opinionated. It's nice once in a while to hear someone say, "Wow! I don't agree with you, but I like that you think for yourself!" I appreciate that. Thanks again.
And now... a bit of fun...

I can say that I'm honored to have met you in this context. Very seldom do I meet Liberals (or whatever you consider yourself) like you.
