It doesn't need armor piercing. It deals stun damage. All armor and most creatures are vulnerable to stun.
And that's not a pistol, it's a cannon. I would ripp off my city and my PA to get one ...

It's my assumption you are talking about me.....
I had no intentions on stacking nor do I rely on those stacking mods in pve or pvp.....My holo told me to go fencer and I was a master pistoleer before I even decided to do holo's. I had no intentions on doing fencer so defense stacking was just a mere coincidence......in my opinion, the stacking of pistoleer and fencer doesn't mean squat in the geo cave though.....I still get slaughtered if I don't pick my fights carefully (like fight 1 enemy at a time). I do dodge 8 out of 10 attacks, but when I do get hit it's for massive damage (try advanced strafe shot for 1800 - 3k getting hit 3 times in 1 second) With the next publish, it doesn't matter what they do to the professions because I won't be a fencer or pistoleer by then.....I have smuggler to do next and every since I started playing this game it was my aspirations to become a master commando. So I will be a jedi and my main character will be a master commando by pub 7.
I know def stacking is unbalancing....but so is riflemans speed with the amount of damage they can do.....so is TKM with how they can KD/Dizzy and head hit you til you die in mere seconds.
Remember that the new patch will change everything about combat,not just the stacking.....so 105 dodge can still potentially be very effective, depending on what else in the combat system they change and the def cap they put in the game.....it's all for the better though.
Anyway, me stating what my professions are was just a testiment of how hard the geo cave is......even with all the stacked def, it don't help much.....the best help in this cave is a group killing them before they kill you.....and then you still need someone to rez because I garuantee you are gonna die 3 times or get DB'd.
this is PvP perfection.
Ive been trying unsuccessfully to commission a krayted Geo blaster on my server for 3 days now - only one schem has dopped on intrepid so far :/
This gun is my sole purpose in life right now, and its killing me not having one ![]()

This may be true to some extent, but AP is always a nice addition to any weapon especially since most everyone I know who pvp's has more than 1 suit of Armor on them. one of which protects against stun and the other kinetic. It only takes a button press and 1 second to switch.
IF you take 50% off the damage due to shooting a armored target
then take whatever percentage resist that target has to stun
then add defense mitigation 3 to the mix and you can see where AP would benefit this gun. AP would eliminate the 50% reduction due to the armor. Plus without AP it's the same as a tangle pistol with more damage.
Also, I am inclined to believe that stun resistances on mobs will probably go up a bit and acid resist as well.The deves would be stupid to giveus a powerful stun weapon and keep the resist on mobs the same, they might as well give us nuclear warheads.......Anyway, 90% of the high level mobs have significant resistnaces to stun.....I've seen nightsisters with 100% resist to it and force sensitives on dantooine have 80% resist to all except restraint (or is it blast) and they have medium armor as well. So that's why I say AP would make this gun awesome. AGains't medium armor, a AP1 weapon still suffers a decrease in damage.
And yes that thing does look like a cannon....but have you seen it shoot.....LOL it sure doesn't shoot like a cannon. STill it's cool though.
