Thread: DX2 Pistol
The DX2 has relatvelyhigh minimum damage too, and a nice tight damage spread, which not only helps in PVP, it helps your specials count for more, especially slow , high damage ones like Stopping Shot and Last Ditch. I know most of you use mostly Fan Shot so it might not be as noticeable.
Take astandard FWG5, wiith a damage range of somethign like 70-210. With Stopping Shot, which has a 5.0 modifier, and you get a *minimum* possible hit of (70x5=350) damage, which actually is kind of lame for a Stopping Shot if you think about it.
Now, compare that to a standard DX2 with something like 120-190 damage. Your minimum hit witha Stopping Shot is now (120x5=600) damage. Still a tad on the lame side but you can see the difference. Most of us use the heavy hitting single-target specials when the opponent is stunned, knocked down, at ideal range, or otherwise set up for losing a big chunk of a HAM bar. That's when you want the single-target specials to really count.
Against human players with damage mitigation this helps even more, as you lose less of your top-end damage. (because there is less of a spread to begin with)
Just another point to consider when thinking about whether a DX2 is any good or not. I personally like them.
I like the DX2, and always have.
