Thread: Made a DE-10

With a speed mod like that I fear this is s'posed to be our gun. What the heck is a smuggler with no speed mods gonna do with this gun? Last ditch every 20 seconds? Slow, energy, yay. More of the same. Next they are gonna surprise us with a "new" acid AP1 gun. The thing looks like a 6-gun, make it Kinetic, or Cold or Elec with the whole "blue-bolt" thing, heck how bout an entagle weapon, seein as how the resists are in game but no weapon does that damage.

Maybe someday we can get a gun that isn't just a re-skin on a gun we already have. Like the Goenosian Tangle Blaster, now we add in the Republic DE-10.

We may be missing out on my server but any unenhanced DX2 that is around 200 max damage is considered a darn good weapon. This gun does have a fairly tight damage range and as someone pointed out, that is better for consistency although I was thinking a bit more towards damage mitigation.


This looks like a pretty good gun to me except for the speed. If it is going to be that slow, I believe it should pack a bigger punch. I would like the idea of a hand cannon that is a bit slow on the trigger. If you saw the pic of Flynn firing this thing, it is indeed a hand cannon. Looks bigger than the SR Combat.

'Normal' depends on your server's resources.


Your 'normal' DX2 would be considered sub-par on Chimaera.








I'm willing to bet the resources aren't this different: "my dx2 is 166-295 2.2 speed"........


I play on 3 servers, and the DX2's are exactly the same. All Master Weaponsmiths will find the top resources, which are easy to locate (too easy in my opinion). Point being; a point here and there? Sure. 30 points here and there? I highly doubt it.

I'm not a big ranged weaponsmith, but that is generally true. Uber resources typically offer only minor improvements over "good" resources. I've slowly collected resources for melee weapons over the past 6 or so months. At this point almost everything I have is within a few points of perfect. The difference between my weapons a few months ago and now tends to be at most .1s delay and 3-10'ish average damage (the greatest change in average damage being for a Powerhammers simply due to their higher overall damage leading to more variance).

I own the weapon StGabriel made, it does not currently have a cert but my 0,0,3,1 pistoleer gets the "you lack the skills" message but my Master Pistoleer can use the gun with no reduction in damage. I plan on getting it sliced later today when our master smuggler logs in and try it out. It would have really been nice to have it be another type of damage or an AP2 weapon though.

Yeah but if any gun we have needed to be reskinned it was the tangle! That thing is just horrible.


As for the this new gun, I agree that we need to have a new type of damage. I agree with others here, slow, AP 2, medium to high damage (200 to 250 max damage), and either cold or electricity damage type. The Geno is our PvP gun this should be a high end PvE gun.

The listing is Energy damage, although this may change, so it should need a blaster powerhandler.

i don't see how they could POSSIBLY make point blank accuracy worse than ideal accuracy.


i definetly see this gun as a short range(48m?) cold damage, AP2, that is very slow and has decent accuracy. its a strong pistol, but its certainly not the bug fixes pistoleers are looking for.

Right now if the gun didn't chage i would take it, i have 95% pistol speed and 100% accuracy so all i care about is dmg, and as it is i like the way it looks over the repub. and for damage, give us blast or kenetic, that guns looks as if its a slugthrower so it should be one, and i totally agree on ap2, as for the cert, in all likelyhood it will be bh since the deathwatch bunker is bh only, but i don't see any reason why it couldn' be multiple profession cert, maybe pistol grips 4 (read prepareing you for the weapon), or expert bounty hunter, wait thats getting a new title Desperado. ok ive put on my 90% heat composite for those of you that don't agree, guess its a good thing i only have to worry about a prenerf fwg5 from a pistoleer.
