I've been novice pistoleer since around September/October, and finally made master in January. I'm never planning on dropping it (I'm stubborn : P ).

I dunno...I'm fairly confident I was one of the first pistoleers on the Shadowfire server, but I didn't master until after the Flame DoT nerf. I went master commando for a looong time, then tried BH/Pistoleer for a while. Unfortunately, the new gen of armor came out shortly thereafter and pistols weren't strong enough to penetrate it for meaningful damage in PvP, even at the speed cap. So I dropped BH and picked up swordsman instead (funny how master pistoleers can't raid the Geonosian Lab for the Geo Sonic schem, even if they have BH pistols III and medic skills on top of that...).
I've got a krayt geo now, but I miss a lot with it in PvP since everyone's a defense stacker (myself included, to some small extent). I'm just hoping the combat balance fixes Pistoleer so it can become my primary profession again. From day one I wanted to play a gunfighter-esque character, but just haven't gotten the love I need for that from the Devs.

Novice Pistoleer: Sometime back in Nov. 2003
Master Pistoleer: May 12, 2004
I worked long and hard for this, I really enjoy this class and plan on keeping it through thick and thin.
RL Pistoleer: 10 years
Maybe you could say it's a calling... ![]()

Umm every since I made Novice Pistoleer. Or did you want a more detailed answer?
Actually started game as scout, with plans to make ranger. Which I did, so I'm already in professions that have no power etc. I actually envisioned a sniper/hunter with rifles. Started using rifles because of damage, but noticed difficulty when animals ran up on you. Then started noticing specails taxing my low mind pool. So I started using pistols, and began to really like it, and with scout it fit my play style well. I like being closer up, keeping mobile, throwing traps, dodging, rolling, running up and hitting the melee guys with Stims that whole thing.
But alas, if I don't see some great improvment and at least some potential after the Combat Balance, I'm going to go try Fencer.

I've been using pistols since I started playing in August, I don't really know when exactly I reached novice but I didn't reach master until last month. For me pistols are the most starwarsy weapons (closely followed by carbines.) I'm just keeping it because of that. I'd switch to carbineer for something new, but Pistoleer and Smuggler fit too well.

I have been a pistoleer since I held that marksman issued CDEF pistol. I Mastered Pistoleer way back in October. I miss the days when the disarm 2 special had a ranged area effect KD, fanshot wasn't fanning
. And how do I feel about our profession? IfSony/someone tells me that I willopen my force slot if I surrender Master Pistoleer. I'll tell them to shove their light sabers up to where the sun don't shine.

I have been a pistoleer since July. It was more of an obstiance issue for me. Determined to keep it because its the underdog. Hopefully they will pump it up.

i started playing 2nd day of launch ... wanted to wait a week after launch and read reviews on the web, but couldn't wait. The first thing i did was sit in med centers and heal ppl. After about a week i decided to pick up a combat class. Pistols was my first. I went up the marksman pistols tree first, and wanted to go tk/pistol/smuggler (yes, i thought of this combo during the first 2 weeks of the game!).
Well, the unarmed grind took too long, so then i decided to go rifles. I got half way up the sniper tree, then decided to enhance my medic abilities with CM. So I mastered CM (before the craze hit i might add) and still wasn't sure which weapon prof to do. I ended up dropping rifles (thought they were broken = oops), and went MCM/doc 0/0/4/0 (rezzing) and pistols 0/4/4/3.
After awhile i got fed up with CM and rezzing ppl, so i decided to go back to the template that i wanted since launch. I'm now master pistols/master TK/smuggler 0/1/4/0 and medic 2/2/4/0. oh yeah and i have that first box in marksman that takes combat xp ... teh one with the /aim ability.
SO basically i've had the pistols 4 tree since a couple weeks after launch, but not until around december was i a true pistoleer. I've never opened a holo, don't plan too .... maybe i'll try the quests, maybe not ... but as far as i'm concerned, pistols fits me, my play style and my character and thoughts of Star Wars so well that unless i go Jedi I won't ever give up pistols.

"Pistoleer motto: The good thing about fewer working specials is a less crowded toolbar! "
Except when you have to put all the specials from other professions up there to make up for your massive deficiencies in combat as a pistoleer... -sigh-

Started working on pistols since I got the game back in September, and made Master in late December, and will not give up on it. I'm just stubborn.
