Why would you think its not supposed to be an AOE knockdown? Because the name sucks? An AOE knockdown and multitarget shot sound like they go together to me....

The disarming shot discussion has been done to death, but considering there hasn't been any dev response on it, it's still a big issue.
I want the knockdown removed from DS2, and I want both of them to "disarm" their targets. DS1 would hit one person, DS2 would be a cone attack like it already is. My favorite method of implementation is to have the victim's gun shoot off in a random direction a few meters, which forces them to pick it up and equip. The gun would have to be marked by owner and not allow others to steal it - as fun as that would be, it would be incredibly frustrating. After being hit, the victim should then be immune from being disarmed for 20-30 seconds.
In a 1v1 fight, it would probably take the person about 5 seconds to find their gun, open their inventory, and double-click it. It would also make combat more interesting than simply standing there blasting each other. The real fun of this method lies in DS2 in massive PvP. Can you imagine shooting disarm into a group of 20 people and seeing a dozen guns go flying off in different directions? It would be utter chaos, and completely hilarious.
And just since we're on the knockdown issue. My old stance, and still the one I believe in, is to reduce the "you're screwed" timer from 15 seconds to 5 seconds, and make the target immune to knockdown for 20-30 seconds, exactly like my numbers for the disarm.
