Thread: I see other pistoleers doing dmg that I cant even touch....
Are you using power ups ??
My stopping shot does in excess of 2600.
Pistoleer 4142 at the moment with a 79 279 FWG5 (30% damage slice) and with a +33 max damage power up it's a 366 max damage pistol.
I never rated power ups and thought they were a waste of money at only 10 (1000 shots) for 2000 creds but I never leave home without them now.
You also start doing bleeds of 1000 damage with these fitted.

errr if they have 100% Heat Resistance then your FWG5 does nothing to them.....
Found that out when we grouped up a couple months back to fight Kimos' - 100% Acid and 100% Heat = no xp ![]()

Huh? Maybe IM a newbie, but how ca you do 1000 bleed damage on a psistol that has a 366 max damage?

Must specials have multipliers to damage, the bleeds higher in the skill tree doing a lot more damage than those lower in the skilltrees (ie compare your pistoleer bleed with the marksman) even with the same weapon.
1000 bleed from a 366 pistol is certainly do-able but not all that common.
Yup.....I can easily get bleeds averaging 900 with healthshot 2, using no powerups. My most powerful gun I believe at the moment is somewhere around 250. My healthshot 1 averages about 500 - 700 and my healthshot 2 averages between 600 - 1000 but that's with my republic blaster. My Fwg does high bleeds, but not as high as my RB. My dx2 does good bleeds but no where near as good as my RB....so it's certainly possible to get over 1k bleeds. Matter of fact I got a 770 bleed today with healshot 1 on a kunga from about 20m away....I shot'em in the back
don't know if that increased the damage......but I do know that suprise attacks (meaning the targethas not arggo'd youbefore you shoot)do more intial damage than any shot in the game except for kd's.
Also remember in terms of lower specials doing more damage than higher specials.....damage is completely random. Even with the damage modifiers to each speicial you are not gonna get a set amount of damage your attack can do. Things like stats of the weapon, defenses of the target, if you, your target or both of you are moving, whether your prone, standing, kneeling, using aim command, accuracy of the weapon and distance you are from your target all factor in how much damage you can potentially do with any given shot.Shouldn't be that way, be i've tested it and it happens way more than people realize. Oh yeah, if your target is knocked down, you will do 50% more damage also (or is it double...I forget).

If you do happen to knock them down you do double the damage. so if you usually average 600 - 800 per hit, with knockdown added I hit for for 1000 - 1800 with them being knocked down with my Republic Blaster. Yeah, I actually did 1800 damage to a KD NPC....exactly 1800 too......I've yet to see better......also it was a double tap shot or bodyshot.....not a bleed....it was about 3 months ago I did it....but it's the highest damage I've gotten on a KD opponent and I was somewhere around pistoleer 1-2-3-1 at the time.....I wonder what I could have done as a master......I don't even KD much anymore though because usaully my target is just about dead by the time they reach me so KD is not needed (I do DB NPC's sometimes with KD though)......but since bleeds got nerfed (or should I say altered) I might have to go back to KD more often.
I have to try the KD - bleed combo....usually I've already applied a gigantic bleed on them from a distance and by the time they get to me I'm concentrating on damage with stopping shot and fan shot.....
basically my strategy has been to use my RB, go prone or kneel at 64m, under mask scent, use aim command, do healthshot 1 & 2 (stack'em usually 700 for the first and 900 for the second bleed...but it varies)....then I /peace and run away to about 100 maybe 120m. 20 seconds later they take the first tick and by the time they close the 100 - 120 meter gap, they have ticked twice and sometimes 3 times (if they scramble around looking for who shot them first before they finally come my direction). So by the time they get to me with me sending a flurry of stopping shots, suppression shots and fan shots (if it's a group).....if they do reach me, 1 or 2 stopping shots is all I need to DB them. I do this mainly with mobs that have 15k+ HAM when I know they can possibly DB me in 1 or 2 blows even when I'm buffed......it's the only way to survive sometimes when your solo (no pets also). last time I tried to go toe-to-toe with a SMC, she force choked me and instantly DB'd me even though I had over 1900 Mind (750 base mind, dancer buff of 750 for 2 hours and 500 muon).....yup 1 force choke and I was dead....and to think I had just got my buffs 10 minutes before that...![]()
