Thread: DONT BE A NOOB WITH PISTOLEER!

No combat profession should have to pick up another profession or rely on Damage Over Times ( with Combat Medic being an obvious exception ) and the most uber weapons in the game to be effective. People who use these things should have some advantage, but it shouldn't be a necessity.

The Combat Upgrade should balance things though

If you have a nice(500ish max unpupedDE-10 and BH pistols almong with Master Pistoleer you dont need mind poison. Eye shot works way faster.

Are you having a tough time PVPing with pistoleer? God forbid you have the mentality that Pistoleer/Bh or Pistoleer/TKM is actually effective. As a previous Pistoleer with all builds the most effective from experiencehappens to be Pistoleer/Master Combat medic. I bet your asking why should I trust you? My answer is simply this.

What you need to own to ownin PvP as a

Master Pistoleer/ Master Comabt Medic

1. Mind Poison Pistol or Fire to the Mind

2. Sick arse Poisons

The reasoning for this is that along with CM poison your applying a double dot with the geo. So either way a poison is going to stick.

This template is my best bet to saving yourself from a trip to the cloner. When PvPing with Pistoleer

1 Star. All anyone needs to completely nerf half your template is Doc 4/0/0/0.

With Janta Cure Pack B's and 55 med use fire blankets, your dots wont stick. And thats not even mentioning a Master Doc with top of the range cures and blankets. Then add in Poison and Resist Packs C's to the mix and you can't rely on CM poison throwing at all.

Then what are you left with? Your DoT reliant template gets eaten up by a MDoc/[Anything] or someone with 4/0/0/0 Doc.

And with all those SP's in CM you lose out on defence and are easy to hit.

I'm talking from experience as a 4/0/0/4 CM, 4/0/0/0 Doc and Master Pistoleer.

Sure, you can kill certain templates and the unprepared... butsinging the praises of a PvP build that can be rendered completely useless by 1 line in a skill tree is rather naive.

Do my a favor, dont make such brash posts in future, it makes you look like a 12 year old kid.

/agree

sitting duck for a doc/combat template

bad range def bad melee bad accuracy without compliments from smuggler/bh

Nice support role, if anyone gets in your face w/o doc you'll be a complete pain in the ass but I don't see it as a good pistol template

Well if you've ever had a gnarly mind nade sucking your life force out of you.. you might think different.. cause uhh.. they beat arse but if you can cure their shat i agree its kinda pointless but not everybody has doc in their temp.. thats alot of points.. but i guess i'd be worth it to stop your mind from ticking away at like 400 dmg every couple seconds.

Facts to Know:
1. Superman's only weakness is Kryptonite. Jack Bauer laughs at Superman for having a weakness.
2. When Jack Bauer goes to the airport and the metal detector doesn't go off, security gives him a gun.
3. If Jack Bauer saw a terrorist reaching for a bomb to blow himself up, Jack would shoot the bomb first. Nobody steals a kill from Jack Bauer.

Hey... CM maybe deadly when you cant do anything to stop that ticking but that still doesnt mean you are just going to bend over and die.

recently I fought what I thought it was a Swordsman. He had CM and mind blasted me from here to doomsday with a mind tick from hell. Thing is before my mind went down to 1 I had already DB'ed him. Granted he had no protection against my GEO, but that was enough for me to fry him.

Pistoleer is by far one of the most powerfull professions ever. Our problem is simply the fact that most of our specials dont work and that we have no armor piercing weapons. Other than that we ROCK!

I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Basically if I read this post correctly, the "only" way to be good in PvP is to be a Master Combat Medic and combine that with a Master Combat profession that has a weapon with a Mind Dot. Other combat professions have Mind Dots, so according to what you posted, the two most important aspects for PvP is Combat Medic Master and a Weapon with a Mind Dot.
So then why don't you post this on the Combat Medic forum, since it has no real relavance to Pistoleer at all?
Not that I agree with your comments any. I have seen some very successful PvP players that have no skills in Combat Medic.

Ok not choosing sides here but I have question. I've had the game about 3 weeks. (So yes I AM A NOOB) I went pistols because.... well, I just liked it better than carbines or rifles when I was working on marksman. I'm trying to get to MP but picked up medic to heal myself. After MMedic I decided to pick up CM to go with my pistoleer. So after reading what alot of you said, have I just wasted alot of time and skillpts (mainly time) getting CM? Me and a buddy mainly go out do PvE, have not done any PvP and not real sure I will anytime soon. But I love my pistols and like the fact that I can heal from what seems like a mile away. Saved many ppl that were near death getting surrounded by a mob that would have killed them if I had to run all the way to them to heal. Mistake or not on current temp? Thanks for any replies so I can change if need be b4 getting too far....

No mistake!

Thing is we arent talking about how cool is to have CM to heal others... we are talking only offensive power here.

There is no doubt that having doc or medic or cm makes a huge diference in either pve or pvp since you can heal yourself pretty quickly and that alone can change the tide of battle.

But on pure offensive, if you have cm apply disease/poison and your opponent has doc to negate it, its over for you. Its better a MasterPistoleer with BH and or Smuggler to kick arse than a Master Pistoleer with CM.
