Of all the ranged professoins the Pistoleer seems to be the one who should be the most mobile by design. I hope they add the modifiers into our profession as they do belong.

Jagd, that answers why you get mitigation as you progress to a master elite/hybrid skill box. It doesn't answer why the mitigation at the master elite/hybrid skill box completely negates the hindrance of armor. When you first get the armor certification, you're fully hindered (like it is now). As you progress through the profession, you should become somewhat hindered (like it is now). When you hit master of that profession, your mitigation would max out, but it would still leave you minimally hindered.

A better system than the current subtract your mitigation "rate" from the hindrance "rate" to get the effective hindrance "rate" would have been to have the mitigation be a percentage of the hindrance rate. So when you get your first mitigation, it reduces the hindrance by 25%. When you get the next set of mitigation, it reduces it by 50%. So at novice, wearing the advanced armors would give 20/40/60 hindrances. At first level mitigations, it'd be 15/30/45 hindrances. At final level mitigations, it would be 10/20/30 hindrances.

The master still has a very significant advantage over a non-master, yet the hindrances still affect the master leaving the option of not wearing any armor at all (which is something that was supposed to be viable in the CURB at all levels.)

No.

Advanced Recon Armor has a Movement Penalty of 19.6%.

A Rifleman 0004 has a 20% Recon Armor Movement Mitigation, as does a Smuggler 4000(the other professions certified for Recon armor).

Rifleman and Smuggler can therefore move unrestricted while wearing Recon armor.

A Master Pistoleer would still move 9.6% slower than the Rifleman or Smuggler.

All other combat professions are likewise able to fully overcome any armor hinderances by the time they reach Master.

Except Master Pistoleer.

Except......

Rifleman cannot run and gun to perform most of their specials especially those with high damage. This doesn't even go to mention the speed at which a character with various weapons move at. The weight and size of a DE-10 is far less than that of a T21 to which would make perfect sense why pistoleers wouldn't see such a high bonus to their armor mitigation unlike Rifleman. As for the smuggler issue I cannot say for certain unless they too will suffer some sort of running and specials penaltylike rifleman.

Anyone see if the Mitigations from 2 professions stacked... I remember the answer being no, but now cant find it to settle an argument (my opponent swears that a M Smuggler/M Pistoleer will have less encumb than just an M Smuggler)

No, they don't stack. That is why the show as an Ability and not a stat modifier (20% vs. +20% for example) and the numbers at Master match the hinderance levels of the Advanced version of each armor type.

I just noticed this today as i was playing and was pretty dissapointed i looked at all other professions with recon armour and they all get compleat mititation by master and we still have a extra 9% left over this doesnt seem right seeing as we are suposed to be a class that moves quickly threw out the battlefeild to hit many enemys or something along those lines was said in the CU post on the site by Devs. This thred needs to get noticed by the devs it should be stickyed of something i see many of the Devs looking in the commando armoursmith and weponsmith foumrs but some reason not here

I asked about it in the HoC question thread. of course they didn't pick that question to answer. Our forum just doesn't have a talkative, interested dev like the commando forum. Helios likes to post.

So the devs said that they are not altering the mitigation on classes? I would say something has been overlooked. Unfortunately many times the devs would rather develop an excuse than say they made a mistake (kind of like the whole timeline thing). Hopefully this will be remedied.

Perhaps we weren't meant to wear advanced armor sets. If we are comparably as stacked as we are now in melee def. and dodge against the other ranged profs, we won't be lacking. My MP/Scout/Ent heavily outweighs a BH/Brawler friend of mine in defenses by 30:1. Haven't been keeping tabs on how BH will fill the role of Tank in the CU but as things stand they NEED the armor. Granted I can't hit nearly as hard as he can, in an endurance test I was clearly the tougher char.

Most memorable SWG quotes:
"You lookin fer summat?"
"Get on board the falcon kid. This place is gonna blow." (How can you forget something you've heard over 100 times in a row?)
