A big heavy suit of 80% composite armor. I love it. If you don't have a stun damage type weapon to hit me with in PvP you can't hurt me. Well, i guess unless you can set me on fire too

Nothing, since im a Wookiee. But have been thinking of trying mk3 sheilds but they are a bit pricey for me since I put most my money in my harvs so I can get resources to makedroids. Hopefully as TH states in the Core Systems forum that wookiees will be getting some attention soon and hopefully something for armor down the road.

nothing, with 200+ dodge, why bother? PvP i have the old comp, 80%. I been hunting Fambaa a bunch and have collected a ton of there armor segs, so i am getting a full suit of Ubesee made, mostly cause I got some neat armor skill atachments and rancore hide.

If they can shoot at me I'm using Composite. If Im out hunting creatures then is nothing but clothing with pistol speed and accuracy tapes added.

I was going to ask a similar question. I see some saying they wear armor, others saying they don't because of encumberance. Does armor really help?

I haven't paid too much attention to it, I often forget to put on my armor before fighting, but I don't see much of a difference. If a creature's going to beat me (and I'm a pretty cautious fighter, so I know what I can take), it's going to beat me armor or no, and the same if I know I can take it. I don't think I see much of a difference in the damage at the end of a fight, either.

By the way, I'm usually fighting unbuffed, too.

I don't think Wookiees will ever get armor, but I do hope they make shield belts better. I don't see anything that they do, and they're so exmensive.

We don't have time to discuss this in a committee.

I have some 67% kinetic Ubese I will put on when I feel like going toe to toe with creatures that can chew me up faster than I can shoot them up. Otherwise I just go with the clothes. I don't usually get doc buffs, but will eat some chef stuff for quickness/stamina. I'm a twi'lek so bestun-enhanced stamina I have is 400 which isn't great for spamming pistol moves with a 48 action cost Rep Blaster. I think I'd rather have 400 quick 750 stam instead of the 750 quick 400 stam, but I don't get to pick the twi'lek's racial bonuses. lol

I find it helps a lot. However, if you tend to kill yourself by using specials, then it will just help you kill yourself faster! You have to ensure your targets are using a damage type that your armour absorbs though - mabari against NPCs isnt good as they tend to use energy damage. Bone against creatures isnt good as it has no protection vs kinetic.

As I said, I like mabari as it doesnt affect HAM by much, yet it reduces damage taken by over 50%. Of course, if you dont go toe to toe with the enemy, then there is no point in wearing armour at all.

I use a couple of specials to start (Low Blow, Panic Shot), but don't usespecials too much unless I get a chance to take the creature down in just one more specials shot (Health is low so BodyShot2 once or twice will finish it, still working on Last Ditch, but I'm close!).

Also have a problem finding creatures that are good XP for me, but don't swarm me when I attack one of them...

I've been a crafter-type for so long, I'm ready to get into the more conbat-oriented aspects, so I can use all the advice I can get.

Currently I'm:

Smuggler 0-4-3-4 (almost at DF4, only 50k to go!)
Pistoleer 0-0-0-1 (lots of Combat XP needed for that last tree!)
Scout 4-4-4-3 (dropping most of this as combat profs need skillpoints)
Merchant 0-4-0-0 (keeping Efficiency as long as possible for structure cost reduction)

Goal is the Triple Mastery - Smuggler/Pistoleer/TKA - long road ahead, but I'm patient.

I’m an armor smith so for PVE I made myself a light set of 66%kin ubese with a pair of 80%kin, 50%base adv. composite legs. All unsliced and can wear it without buffs.

Arafu made a 5 star comment. Mabari is the best bang for your buck. But mabari doesn’t cover your biceps.

Chitin is also good armor. Adv. Chitin canhave kinetics in the low 60’s.

I have a set of 78% kinetic which i wear for pvp, I also had a specially made low encumberence set of composite - it's like 35% to all stats, but it's easy as anything to wear. I only really have it for the looks around town

Mix n match usually consisting of a ubese (sometimes padded) jacket, then padded trousers (sometimes dropped in favour of a MS boosting re-inforced) and either ubese or tantil boots.
