When was the last time you saw somebody using a normal player-made run-of-the-mill Power 5 pistol?

I don't think I've ever seen a Power 5 pistol let alone someone using it.

Nope, you get the certification for the Power 5 pistol somewhere in the Novice Marksman pistol tree ( I think it's in box 3 or 4 ). The ones I've seen basically look like a DL44 pistol with the end of the barrel cut off at an angle. My point was, nobody ever uses the Power 5 pistol because they're already using better pistols from the first or second pistol box (DL44, Scout Blaster, etc.), and the only really useful upgrade is theFWG-5, DX2, Scatter Pistol, and Launcher Pistol.

There are several pistols that are virtually worthless. I think the main reason is because their schematics *require* the Weaponsmith to use materials that simply suck for firearms. For example, the schematic may say that the weapon's quality is based 66% on overall quality and 33% on conductivity, and then it *forces* you to use large amounts Neutronium steel or Doonium iron, when those metals typically never have conductivity over 650. If you used materials with 1000 OQ and 650 CD, your average on the weapon would be a maximum of around 880, or 88% maximum effective experimentation. The SR Combat Pistol is a perfect example of this. It would probably be a great little pistol, because it does energy damage with a light AP rating and you get the certification around Marksman pistols-3, but you have to use so much Neutronium steel to make them that the best possible stats on the weapon are simply sub-par compared to other pistols using average-quality copper or aluminum.

Even on armoured targets this thing out-performs most of our arsenal except for the DE-10. I mean, before output bonus and special damage modifier and resists, this thing is about 350 max damage vs light armour, and still about 230 max on medium, so unless you own a real nice DE-10 of at least 400 max damage, this is officially the best PvE pistol you own.

I personally would be scared to slice this bad boy in case I got speed. Wait for smuggler revamp as there are a few of them still campaigning to control slices, and you never know, the devs might even deliver a revamp that a profession actually wants, unlikely, but we can dream I guess.

If he waits for the smuggler revamp, he may be waiting for a looooong time!

Very nice weapon but Metallica's right. Don't slice it just in case!
