Whats wrong with mastering? 1 SP, +25 dodge, a few ranged/melee def extras, and big deal with the broken specials, only special i need is fan shot and very rarely the attack that knocks em down (too tired to recall name) try using a 100-something-499 (with powerup) geo, which is what im using, spam eyeshot or torso shot for PvP, (BH skills), and just kite mobs and use fan shot.

I'll be happy with the CU as long as I can duel wield DE-10's when the patch hits.

Thats not really good strategy. Kiting with fan is more often dangerous than helpful. Im master pistoleer/BH pistols, novice commando(for the launcher pistol, blast damage) and 0/0/0/4 in tk for some needed defence. Pistoleer CAN be good in PVE against high level stuff, if you know what your doing. You have to learn the profession, and use pistolwhip and DOTs to your advantage. The highest mobs I can solo are NS stalkers, Blacksun Assassins, and ive come very very close to soloing a Death Watch Ghost, or Wraith, whichever is the weakest one. Strategy is our strength, and with BH pistols we have 4 DOTs at our disposal, Healthshot1, Healthshot2, Bleedingshot, and Torsoshot, all health DOTs. I always start with a salvo of Dots, using health 1 and 2, bleeding, then torso, when they rush in, use pistol whip to KD, then run away using Stopping shot, crazy damage, and keeps you out of harms way.

People need to relax a bit.
Pistoleer does not suck, it is a great profession with capable specials (some need work, but all teh professions have specials that need work).
The problem is, people need to ask if they like to play as a pistoleer. Pistoleers are not the solo high level PvE professionals that the swordsman or rifleman are, they are however on par with fencers, pikeman, carbineer and TKA.
If you want to be a looter, and solo at that, then you really need to be 1 of the 2 professions for that (rifleman or swordsman). If you want to be great in PvP, then there are various pistoleer templates taht you can choose from.
Personally, I love the combination of smuggler and pistoleer, commando and pistoleer, fencer and pistoleer.
For me they are all fantasitic, but I also am not a person that is interested in solo lotting. I like my close group of friends that will help me go after the high end content (the way it should be for all professions from my perspective), but I also am great at solo PvE when no one is around.
Thus, we all really need to be patient for the CU (yeah I know that sucks, and I am one of the people tha have been screaming for over a year for it to get here in other forums), see what the new roles are going to be, and then make our decision on what profession and combination there of to play. Hopefully the testers here will try various pistoleer combat professions and give us guidance on what are the new good combinations.

Why would rifleman be more able to solo than a pistoleer? Rifleman are extremely out of balance. They should get huge penalties for moving or fighting at close/point blank distances.

Everything I've read says that Bleeding Shot causes a Mind Bleed, not Health. Can someone confirm or deny this for me please?

I'm just cutting-and-pasting something I wrote in an earlier post to answer your question, because I had the post handy:

BleedingShot is not exclusively a Mind DoT. It bleeds all three HAMs. I confirmed that today with a field test, where I shot several perleks, eachwith a single BleedingShot and then peacing, and watched the ticks. Most of the time, all 3 pools seemed to tick at about the same rate (I didn't actually measure them--this is just my casual observation). Once, I saw only Action and Mind tick, and Health did not tick at all over the course of a couple of minutes.

Cool, so it Bleeds all HAM. Very nice!

Another question then: If it sticks, does it stick to all HAM bars? Or is it possible that it may only cause Health and Action to bleed, but not Mind?

Why?
Simply put, it opened my eyes to how broken SWG is, and that the devs dont give a damn about us

Yes, I have personally seen that happen before--see the last sentencein my above post. It's not my favorite bleed too use alone because it's too unpredictable, but I do definitelyuse itin conjunctionwith the others in my arsenal.

Bleeding shot is not a mind bleed, in fact its not health either, its random. Ive tested this several times before, but for me it tends to hit health most of the time. But whatever, we have alot of DOTs

MP is a great prof...with the right template. I agree it does lack compared to some of the other professions, but if loot is important,go TKM. I wanted to have fun while I played. I went MP for the guns. Lots of guns. It also requires a variety of professions to be useful, and variety is good.

I added the DF line in smuggler, because Last Ditch is the best shot we have, and feign is priceless. The added bonus of Smuggler is that it requires Unarmed 4, putting Intimidate andWarcryat your disposal. And you should use them. A lot. Taunt can saves the lives of many a group member.

Throw in Commando's Flame 4 when amajor DOT is required, Rifleman 0103 for when you need to pull just that single high end mob with Mind Shot or Conceal Shot, and Novice medic to keep ya going a bit longer.

If I had a combat macro, it may look like this: Intim1; Intim1; Intim1; Health2; Health1; Low Blow (or)PistolMeleeDefense1; Last Ditch; Last Ditch; Last Ditch; Stopping Shot; Warcry...repeat, and add Flame Single 2 for heat vulnerable high end mobs.

This template gives me the choice of 37 weapons, of which I use about 20. Something for every occasion. There's not many mobs I'm not willing to take on, and given time, can beat most anything, save DJKs and SBDs.

Unfortunately, the 'given time' is our Achilles heal. In this game, time is loot.

But I love MP.
