Hell try Master Pistoleer, Smug 0040, commando 0040 (or just novice for the launcher) and its rather evil what you can to to PC's doing last dith with a nice launcher, let alone an AT-ST (which I now solo very easily) Plus if you get a TKA (or any melee class for that matter) on you the explosions in their face add for a great disorientation effect, allowing you to get out of their range. Something to think about.

I dont own a single pistol that is slower than 1.4 or a damage lower than 245. In fact most of my pistols that i use regularly have a speed of less than 1 second and a damage over 300.

That's the key though, the only way to have Last Ditch be fast enough is to be a Master Gunfighter with Master Marksman and use a pistol with a speed of less than 1.8. The best pistols, however, don't have a speed of under 1.8 so if you don't get a speed slice you're outta luck.
Unless you've got some nice skill tapes, you can't get enough Pistol Speed to get Last Ditch to 1 second, since you don't have enough skill points to get BH Pistols, Master Gunfighter and Dirty Fighting 4.
Last Ditch is good forsending a single powerful shot, but Fan Shot has a better average DPS for any pistol of speed 1.8 or higher being used by a Master Gunfighter with Master Marksman.
Single powerful shot to finish off your target, sure go for Last Ditch. Best DPS is still Fan Shot for many people. I didn't say Last Ditch sucks. I just said it's over-rated, since people talk about it like it's jesus in a pistol.
Then do what you say... you want to be good with a pistol in pvp, you have to expand on it... pistoleer alone sucks, but when you add master marksman, smuggler, and a defensive mod or two, its a damn good prof to have...
I am a master pistoleer, so I know what I am talking about...
