cubble is wrong... simply... in EQ, you were only as skilled as your gear... i was a lvl 56 warrior when i quit, i knew a level 51 that had a better sword then me, so naturally, he could kill me... he could also solo the gourangas...

Some guy tried to spam suppression on me and got owned. Which means I disagree with you that's it's too powerful.

LOL, every style that actually works is gonna get nerfed. Before long they will only give some small percent increase in damage and you'll only usestyles to target pools. I say make defense reasonable, and make posture changing styles less damaging, if needed.

One of the first things I did post patch is test this in PvP. I fought a BH. It is not a particularly effective Dueling skill. The person on the recieving end gets a minor delay when they get knocked to prone if you're standing right on top of them. But just like with a PvE change in your position all you have to do is hit "stand". Spamming suppression fire works as advertised, but doesn't keep someone from attacking you. The BH still got in attacks (kd is evil mainly cause I don't have it yet). In closing, suppression fire is great in PvE, and would be good in mass PvP and against brawlers. Against other ranged weapon users, it is less than effective.

I friendly duelled my pikeman friend tonight. First duel he used knockdown several times and when I finally got up I still could not act for quite some time. Second duel we agreed no knockdowns and no running, so I stood in his face and did supression fire, fan shot, fan shot, repeat... he could not move at all. I have a 1.4 speed scout blaster, it takes me 51 action to use supression fire. I could have killed him with supression fire alone because of my high willpower allowing me to heal often.

Even if defense VS posture change actually worked 50% of the time I could still kill him with only supression fire...it is FAST.

Then your friend sucked =/. You can almost instantly get back up from supression, it takes 2 in a row without standing to force prone. Def. vs. posture change will stop spamming from working 50% of the time. As you spam some low damage move with higher ham costs, that brawler will get up and smack you for 200+ and make you think again about spamming it rather than actually fighting.

The problem with whining about specials in PVP is that the useful ones in PVE then get nerfed for being unbalanced in PVP. Something that would normally be an awesome skill like knockdown gets a mega nerf and screws soloing for many classes. Keep talking about supression being unbalanced and it will become another absolutely useless skill.

hmmm...this is my vote - drop marksman and brawler all together from the game - everyone is either an architect, dancer, musician, or doctor - you can't complain there - no way to nerf a friggin dancer or musician - (thoi'm sure some would find ways)

If you take the time to read multiple sections of the forum - you'll find not only are some people whining - everyone is - it's how it is - imperials will whine about rebels rebels will whine about imperials - pistoleers will hate BH - BH will whine cuz pistoleers hate BH - etc etc...

Do some of you people even understand what whining is?

Person A) I have this concern about something I noticed the other day that has a potential for abuse. [Reasonable, level, not whining]

Person B) OMG you whiners want everything nerfed, stop whining about it, etc... [Excessive whining]

Get to know the difference.

HA HA

Totally agree.

**can't wait to get supression fire** I like specials that "Work as Intended"

dizzy and suppression is a REALLY nice combo, and (OMG) is actually useful in PvP... HOWEVER, if you let someone stand there and plink you a few times before you do anything then you deserve to be on your back. When you have to chain off specials to be effective then there is always a weakness, and that is the chain being broken. Dizzy doesn't last for that terribly long, and even with no posture changing defense I see lots of ways to get past it.

EXAMPLE: BH using carby v. supression fire using pistol:

Pistoleer: YOU"RE GOING DOWN NOOB!

BH: who the fark are you, and why are you typing in all caps?

Pistoleer: Attacks with Dizzy attack

BH: Underhand shot

Pistoleer: On his back

BH: Switces to pistol, Mind shot

BH: mind shot

BH: mind shot

BH: mind shot

Pistoleer stands up, starts to spam supression fire... but before he can act again...

BH: Switches to carbine, underhand shot

etc...

So... it can be useful I guess, but it is not a 'trump' card, which is what everyone is worried about.

Sozek,

Interesting. Yet another of the "spam for the win" specials. Even more interesting that it only takes 4 marksman boxes to get.

Kinda like pistolwhip witha scout blaster?
