Thread: Disarm Shot future plans
Can anyone think of an effect that slows attack speed? It seems to me that disarming shots could be short-term "slow" states if that doesn't step on some other classes toes.

Other suggestions for Disarming Shot 1

(These are in no particular order)
1.Jams/disables the opponents weapon for 9 seconds, usable only once per 30s (opponent gets immunity) They can switch weapons, so it isn't too powerful IMO, and there is immunity.
2.Single target version of panic shot, or something similar, where it basically delays the opponents next action, or does not allow them to use specials for "X" amount of time. Can either be hard to land or have it again, with 30s immunity (30s just taken from KD immunity). This is like you “shoot the gun and it’s too hot to handle” type of thing.
3. Knocks the weapon to inventory where it has to stay there for some amount of time (like #1, just a different effect). Again, immunity would probably be needed.
4, Does weapon condition damage, that doesn't "destroy the weapon"
So you can directly damage an opponent’s weapon, but it's only temporarily disabled once it reaches 0. After some time (60seconds?) it starts to regenerate quickly back to whatever its current maximum condition is. This could allow damaging an opponent’s weapon, without the griefing aspect of it, since it would not "destroy" the weapon. Alternative is that once it reaches 0, it has to get repaired by a weapon crafter tool, but condition doesn’t drop (it un-jams it)
I really really really really hate to say this because I'd hate to inflict griefing to other's. BUT, if SOE gives me this crap, to damage weapons, then I DO want it to destory the weapon. That way once enough people complain about us destroying their weapons, SOE will actually get off of their lazy ass and give us something more useful then this crap. I'm sorry, but that's how I feel, I think damaging a person's weapon is the more idiotic thing SOE has ever come up with, worse then their stupid idea for CSR's who know as much as I do, which isn't much!

I DARE them to let me destroy weapons... please, please, please let me at it. OH man, I am so there. BH's are gonna pay. Who cares if it even works well,

but why not destroy the weapon.. i mean come on im sure weaponsmiths everywhere are like yeah destroy the weapon bring us more clientele
i have absolutely no qualms about taking someone's gun out of the picture permanantly.. much like when the game will finally stop with the auto insure combat is risky... if you bring a nice weapon that you just bought from uber and uber corps and some pistoleer shot it to nothing thats your fault for trying to pvp..
who cares about the griefing there is already a ton of that with much more insane issues like the at-st space port camping..
we need to have something that is our own.. not something everyone else and thier brother has.. im for destroying the weapons man.. it would be so much better for pvp grouping too.. so you got a few pistoleers int he group.. some bad arse BH with a beautiful lightning gun approaches shoot his lightning gun to nothing.. force him to go into his other weapons.. this could not only be viable but would also make melee doods happy if you can disarm the guy long enough to let the melee close in..
oh well thats my two cents.. pretty soon we will all have marshmallow guns firing away at one another from 12 meters

The biggest problem with a move that damages a weapon isn't the griefing, it is this:
It has no offensive or defensive value untli the moment the gun breaks.
I'm sure it's not going to break a gun in 1-2 shots. Your basically throwing away shots that will cause you to lose a duel just so that you can smile knowing you caused him some permanent damage. I'd rather have a move that could win a battle.
Also I don't PvP much so I'm very against a PvP only move. Damaging an NPC weapon has no purpose at all unless you knew you could destroy it within 4-6 shots. Anything longer is worthless, and even at 4-6 it would be unbalanced in PvP. A team of2 pistoleers could destroy any gun in the game in 2-3 seconds...
I just don't see damaging a weaponmaking me more powerful or evenuseful in any way.
