Personally I think the triple threat route is a little over-rated. Especially with the weapon switch delay. Sure it's nice to be able to switch to TKM and just totally own pretty much everything, but then it's like there's hardly any reason to have pistoleer. If you enjoy TKM then yeah pistoleer is a nice secondary for the defense vs states and what not, but if you're someone who just loves pistols ilke me you'll get frustrated slowly plinking away when you know you could be doing a lot more damage with TKM even though you'd rather not. That's why I really enjoy the "pure" pistols template mentioned in this thread. You get to light people on fire, shoot 'em in the eye, blast 'em apart with last ditch and all at the speed cap. Plus you get one of the funnest pistols to use, the launcher pistol. It's really a matter of what you're going for in terms of style and fun.

As much as that's a great offensive template, don't take novice medic for granted. I've killed many PC's becuase they had no medic, it wasfaster than targetting mind.
I'd drop novice commando and BH pistols III and IV and pick up 1-0-0-0 Medic for a better PvP template... but that's just me.

Otin matey, How do you find the lack of Ranged Mitigation 3?
I mean obviously you seem to be doing quite well and loving it too by the sounds of it. I must admint my Geo blaster with eyeshot is just making people dead so quickly
but how does it stand up to melee's or do you just not get close enough to find out?

To be honest, it's more of a PvE template than anything.
The variety is great for Mobs and their vulnerabilities, but in PvP, your lack of defense means you're going to get slaughtered. No questions, no "ifs", just slaughtered. You can only kite so much, and if you can't out-dodge a Rifleman, he's going to beat you like a puppy.
Since Blast vulnerability is important for Nightsister hunting, it's hard to give up Novice Commando, but it's really not that impressive outside of that specific MOB. Concentrate on Pistoleer/BH4 for PvP (Yes, Torso Shot has it's advantages. Against a non-healer, you'll find Torso Shot/HS2 taking out people faster than any Eyeshot spam, and for some reason, a lot of players ignore stun defense on their chest plate.)
If you MUST have Smuggler (Last Ditch is pretty, and Feign Death is the reigning king of PvE specials), that's fine. Consider dropping to Pistoleer 4/1/4/4 and take up Teras Kasi 0/0/0/3, to at least give yourself a fighting chance against melee attackers with a base 89 melee defense, and 80 dodge. You can purchaseclothing attachments or Akuuan rings to increase your ranged, melee, and dodge, as well as use inexpensive foods that have a decent duration and low filling.
Like I said, your first template is fine for melee, since armor is the end-all of the problem, but with 49 melee defense and 22 ranged, you aren't going to dodge much besides a Durni.

The only thing that I dont like about it is that there is no medic. Like what Altairr said even novice make can come in handly and in pvp it can be a lifesaver. I'm not big into PvP atm, honestly I really don't like the idea that a melee stacker can close a 64m gap and then begin their beatdown of most range proffs.... but that is a different rant all together
Anyways Last ditch is super nice, but stopping shot does almost the same amount of damage. Low blow can be replaced by Fire knockdown plus it adds a dizzy as well(only problem is the weapon switching delay... but I have heard that you can semi work your way around it with /peace and some other stuff)
Panic shot is something none of the profs have and can be use in various ways. I have used it to start with, spammed eyeshot about 5 times, then hit them with lowblow, and continued with more eyeshot. Last ditch can replace eyeshot as well.
I can only wonder how things are going to play out when/if all of the pistoleer specials work.
Besides if you start to lose /feigndeath and all is good.

I really havent noticed it that much really. Yes I die quite often, but mainly from CM's (that will soon change wit the Doc resist buffs). Might eventually drop some TKA and Novice Commando to pick up Master Pistoleer, raelly wanna try out a DE-10 lol. With the amount of melee def I have it works really well, and smugglers addition of melee mit 1 is also really nice. Mostly by running around and just not standing still u can pretty much stay alive.
As a side point I dont do much 1v1 fights its mainly group battles, so this may not be the best 1v1 temp, but I do know that being able 2 ranged KD people who have already been dizzied is REALLY fun ![]()

Interesting but I thought that melee mitigation didn't apply when you are holding a ranged weapon? Is this not so?

I will have to check again, but since it is granted in Smuggler and based off of Pistol XP, I think it actually works while holding a pistol. I will check into this, but I am pretty sure it works like that.

This template is used in PvP successfully all the timeby me and i don't get slaughtered very much, so there are definitely "ifs". Ranged and melee defense have absolutely nothing to do with how much you dodge, and with my +Dodge numberover 100i dodge quite alot in PvP even against riflemen. Also, don't underestimate the offensive power of Low Blow for the KD followed by some Last Ditches with a nice krayt geo blaster. If they're on their back and dead before they can squeeze off a shot, i don't even need to dodge

I like that template you got there! What about your last 6 skillpoints? Would putting it into Novice TKA work (for meditate)? Not sure if you can meditate at novice or not, never went the melee professions. Or as someone else said put them into slicing terminals.

Meditation is useless until meditation 2.

Novice Meditation = Stop Bleeds
Meditation 1 = Cure Poisons
Meditation 2 = Cure Diseases
Meditation 3 = Faster Meditation results
Meditation 4 = Cure Wounds
Master Meditation Faster Meditation results
You go either 4 or 2 or nothing in my opinion. The difference between master and 4 however is just amazing. You go from curing 5 to 10 wounds every few seconds to curing 80 - 100 wounds a tick.

I made triple master earlier this summer, and its great. I kill a lot of stuff. But unfortunetly its mostly with TKA now. I try shooting stuff, get tired of waiting, break out the VKs, and destroy everything in a 10m radius.
I'd be really interested in going to an all pistols template like this, except for the lack of defense. I think I'll wait until the combat revamp to make that desicion (so...another year or so
).
