JemyM wrote:If you are a master pistoleer and not learned the power of using the right gun for the right moment, you should remove the "master" from your title and put back Novice. There is no such thing as the "best pistol"... you should know that. The entire point with being a pistoleer is the ability to use different guns in different events!!!You can have the best uber Scatter Pistol in the game, but it will not even scratch a Night Sister Elder. The very same Scatter Pistol will be best thing to use against a Super Battle Droid. What follows is NOOB stuff... if this is too complicated for you, consider another profession:Get a Scatter or DX2 (Acid), FWG5 (Heat), Republic Blaster or DE-10 (Energy), Geonocian Blaster (Stun) and a Striker pistol (Kinetic).Attach /examine on a quickkey, and use this whenever you meet a new monster. First look at their ARMOR. It will say "None" "Light" "Medium" or "Heavy".Republic Blaster/FWG5/Geonocian Blaster/Striker are NOT Armor Piercing. This means that:When you fight stuff with NO armor the damage will be changed with 0%When you fight stuff with LIGHT armor the damage will be REDUCED -50% damageMedium Armor: REDUCED -75% damageHeavy Armor: REDUCED -87,5% damageDE-10 / DX2 or Scatter are LIGHT Armor Piercing. This means:When you fight stuff with NO armor the damage will be BOOSTED +25% damageWhen you fight stuff with LIGHT armor the damage will be changed with 0%Medium armor: REDUCED -50% damageHeavy Armor: REDUCED -75% damageNow after knowing this, look at their resistances to find out which weapon will do most damage against each type of resistance. For example, a Nightsister Elder is 100% resistant against Kinetic/Acid/Stun/Heat ... so you must use Energy damage.A Nightsister Protector on the other hand is 100% resistant against Acid/Stun/Heat/Energy ... so you must use Kinetic damage.
You might want to put you Novice tag back up too. Repub blasters are AP1.

Try killing the Black Sun, that's what I looted a barrel off of.

FWG5/Geonocian Blaster/Striker are NOT Armor Piercing. This means that:

Pistoleers definantly dont have a "I win" button like other professions.
One thing I find disturbing in this whole post, and someone correct me if I am wrong, is that with all the different pistols in our arsenal, I always use a fwg5 pistol.
I find using this pistol the most will cause the most damage, regardless of resistance, unless whatever I am fighting has 100% resist against heat.
I used every other pistol, except de-10 which is overrated
, and using the fwg against an enemy that has higher resist against heat as oppose to my dxr which is acid, still does higher doses of damage, even the dps is higher...
Does anyone else feel this way too?
By the way I have been Master Pistoleer since early launch, switched to Master BH, then added Master Pistoleer, then dropped BH to be triple threat.
For all of those flamers out there..![]()

Ok. Have fun with nightsisters

The combat log does not show adjusted damage. Look at the numbers that float on top of a monsters head when you shoot it, and you will see the real damage.
FWG5 is a good weapon that often deal out quite alot damage, and it rocks inside the Squill cave. It can now be boosted with Gorax Bones making it possible to go past 350 max damage.
Against everything with Armor Rating the Scatter/DX2/Republic Blaster is a better pick. People likes to drag me with them when fighting Super Battle Droids and Nightsister Elders since I deal out decent damage against them. Just try a Republic Blaster next time you end up with one of thoose pesky Voritor's and you will note the difference.
When hunting Janta/Mokk the FWG5 deals great damage vs Mokk but barely scratches Janta. In thoose hunts I use the Geo instead.
And then when the Stalker or Protector pops up from nowhere, im glad I carry my striker, since the rest of my arsenal do 0 damage against their 100% vs everything but kinetic. Now with Gorax Bones it's almost possible to solo one of thoose.
I am rather extreme in my ways to challenge everything and do alot of testing. When I resigned I had one weapon of each doing 300 damage, except for the Striker (this was before the Gorax patch). The Scatter was extremely expensive, so I naturally did not use it for grinding.

What is the best gun a master pistol can get?
I saw that there are many more pistols in the game then in the profession tree anounced. Is this a bug or is a master pistol not able to use all pistols in the game?
