the update DL-44 should be certed in smuggler, not pistoleer

despite the fact we just got a master weapon cert, the DL-44 is outlawed and only used by outlaws (ie. smugglers)

it should be the same, just with higher damage and AP, and a max range of 48m to compensate

a pistol worthy of the dirty scoundrel using it

I'm with you - here's an idea though

Special Editions of the various pistols

DL44 Solo - Upgraded version of the DL 44

DL44 Imperial - Used by imperial officers - faction weapon

Basically the same model but with slightly different stats - maybe slightly different skins?

(Mmm DL44 with the the metallic finish of a Rep Blaster)

and who're you to say only smugglers are outlaws? just because they're better at getting away with illegal activity doesn't make them the only non-model-citizens.

For the love of god let me stuff the ballot box on this. Not many people can imagine the face I made recoiling in horror the first time I saw the stats on one of these so long ago.

I love the DL44 and occasionally I still use it just because of the look on low level creatures. I also like the scout blaster too. Hey as Star Wars fans we like the guns we have grown to love seeing be used in the movies. Who could blame us for wanting to always use them.

Great post, I myself was a Master Smuggler/Pistoleer for a couple months and had a custom dl44 made for me for the sole purpose of feeling like a Smuggler. Of course I used my Dx2 a lot more than it, I still would pull it out on low level Npc's and other such creatures.

/sign, and if the smuggler revamp goes well, hope to be back to my pistol-slinging self.

I agree. I knew i wanted a DL-44 before I even installed the game. I still have my first one somewhere.

I would love it if Smuggler got a special DL-44 as their weapon.

After reading above I think im going to try and get my hands on a Krayt one.

You know. I think it would be more interesting if a weaponsmith could make a rebulic blaster....but give it the DL-44 skin. So if you like the way a tangle pistol works..but prefer the skin of a FWG5..something like that.
