Master Pistoleer... think of it... think of ALL the pistols you know how to use...

we aim at using a tiny weapon, and pin-pointing our opponents weakness w/ this. it's small and efficient for tight-space fights (such as in bars, Ep4 w/ Greedo and Solo), and can fire fast and rapidly while moving.

Scatter Pistol - ever notice the name? ever actually LOOK at the pistol? it's a spread-shot weapon. There is very little aiming involved with a weapon like this, which is perfect for the BH on the run from critters or firing off a couple of special shots at a jedi mark and then suddenly switching to carbine or LLC.

"BOOM"commando pistol - launcher pistol... looks like it fires off RPG rounds or something. definately an assault weapon, not a weapon you could use at close-to-melee range comfortably or pin-point a certain part of their body with.

Heres a clue. If you likeScatter pistol so much why dont you pick up novice BH?You don't hearmewhining about having to pick up pistoleer for defense and the Geo Blaster cert.

Scatter pistol is not that great imo. As a master pistoleer 0030 bh I use the republic blaster most of the time. Only time I ever use my scatter is when I fight enraged rancors which I can solo easily.

well, simply put, the answer on that is "semantics."

it seems we want to see "master pistoleer" and interpet that as "master of all that is a pistol"


hrm...

let's try a dictionary on this...

pistoleer n : someone armed with a pistol (especially a soldier so armed)



weird, it doesn't happen to say "someone who is an evil genius and knows everything about every pistol ever made and can fire them at blazing, almost inhuman speeds, with amazing accuracy, at a full out run, even if the ammo they're using is of such a size as to de-track a tank"

last ditch pistoleer isn't that great IMO



stopping shot with bh is much better.


it's faster and much more accurate.

if there are any more responses as to why M pistoleer don't get to use every pistol known in the galaxy...

before you post...

do us all a favor and just jump off the theed waterfall and pray you hit ground, not water (even though at that velocity it wouldn't really matter)

I'm just confused about what all the fuss is... every profession, every tree, every skill has pluses, and minuses. For BH, it's the fact that they use up SO much SP, but an enourmously effective offense, with decent defense (Oh, and soon Mandalorian Armor... SOOO cool...). For pistoleer, you get good defenses, but not a superb offense... the same goes for Melee professions. A TKM has a very high damage output, but he/she eats him/herself alive to do it, and doesn't have superb defense. A Fencer has a superb defense, and a nice weapon that cuts through composite, but doesn't have a super offense... 1K or so damage at max, in PvE, in PvP, far less. The people screaming about how this is wrong with that profession need to stop screaming, and tweak their template to make up for their chosen professions shortcomings, or start choosing targets that they know then can finish off. I'm a Master Fencer, soon to be Master Pistoleer, and I don't choose to run after the guy holding the scatter pistol, because I know he's likely a BH, who will incap me in a very few hits, since my specials eat my mind when I'm holding a stunner, and if he can kite me for more than 10 seconds or so, he's likely to eat my mind alive with Eyeshot. I choose to go after the Rifleman, or Pistoleer, who can't hit me to save his life (Litteraly),the TKM, who if he/she can't KD me, is in for a world of hurt, or the Commando, who has serious issues with hitting a smaller target in PvP. It's not about the Profession(s), or how messed up it is... it's how you use it.


With Master Fencer/Pistoleer, I don't plan on running in, and trying to take everyone out... I'll choose my target, based upon what kind of weapon they're holding. Sure, there are going to be times I guess wrong, but hopefully, by the time they change weapons, I'm able to get them down enough, that it just doesn't matter. They move from a Melee to a Ranged? Pull out the geno, and sap more life away... If everyone keeps crying about how certain professions need to be nerfed, or are too powerful, everyone is going to get nerfed. The only thing I've seen that I think calls for a nerf EVER is how accurate Master Rifleman are up close, and the speed at which they fire. Agreed, Rifleman are not invincible, but a master shouldn't be able to take his Krayted Laser Rifle, and pop off 3 shots in the time that it takes someone to bring a stunner onto his melon once. Much less to have all 3 of those shots hit their intended target. I've seen Rifelman who say it's insane. They're not complaining of course... but they still think it's crazy, and are just waiting for the nerf.


Another Class people complain about are CM's... Who really, if you look at them... only have one major thing going for 'em... the poison. If you KD a CM, he can't throw it... if he throws it, you're darn tootin' it should do a lot of damage... Chemical Warfare buddy, it works... it's cheap, low down, and dirty... but it works. I've killed a couple of CM's with a KD, Dizzy, even after being poisoned... one time, I even got lucky, and ignored as I meditated the poison off ina corner for nearly a minute... They're not invincible, they can be beaten... sure you hate to deal with them... but this is war folks... everthing hurts... and everyone has a different way of playing it. Nerfing professions, or adding things to professions, only adds craziness to the combat balance, and is why SOE is planning an entire revamp of the combat system. So many things have been nerfed, and so many things have been uberfied... that there no longer IS a balance. It's become "Whoever can afford the best toys wins". In this case, it seems it's become the Imps, because of their discovery of the Rifleman/Doc, or Rifleman/CM template, their AT ST's, and their uber base turrets. They played the game more intelligently, while a lot of Rebels were of grinding holos, and trying to figure out a template to win with. The other part of the problem is that most rebels, are younger kids. Not that it's a bad thing, but it's much harder to organize a war with a bunch of kids, just having fun in a video game than it is a bunch of somewhat more serious minded adults.


So yeah... the game has a lot of issues... and every proffession, and the people who hold it have problems with something in it... but nothing can be perfect. If it was, we'd all be able to Master BH/TKM/Commando/Fencer/Pistoleer/Jedi/Chef/Doc/WS/AS/Rifleman... all at the same time... and then, the game would be no fun, because we'd all be the same, and basically playing Quake, with a lot more people. Why do you think people scream about FotM?
