WOW...eclipse is expensive on the Geo's.

I just got my geo the other day from a guildie WS on Intrepid. It's pretty nice, don't remember the stats right now as I am at work, but I only paid 400k for it.

I use this weapon to grind credits on dant doing mokks and jantas (as stated above, mokks are a bit faster) and in 2 sessions, I have already gotten over 1.5mil credits using this gun. I am only a 0-3-4-3 pistoleer, 0-0-4-2 when I started the grind with the geo.

I don't use a power up and only use HS2 and Fan shot to kill these and do so at the rate of about 200k credits per hour. The starting condition was about 1065 and now it's still at 995/1065.

This is a GREAT grinding weapon and you will more than make up for the money that you spend on this...oh..also..I got a crappy 18% speed slice on this, so hopefully the next one will be a bit better.

I have no BH skills, so my speed is slow anyways so I guess the speed slice isn't that bad...well..other than the %.

Hope this helps.

just a note on slicing, (it might have changed since it was a while since I was a smuggler) the odds on wether you got a speed or damage slice tended to be modified by how close a weapon was to it's theoretical max speed or damage. a gun near it's theoetical max slices speed alot more, a extraordinarily fast gun will likely slice damage. this seems to be why krayt guns slice speed alot. same applies to armor with encumbrance and resistances.

but again this was never proven (to my knowledge), only observed and it was quite awhile ago, so may have changed anyways. but you might keep it in mind just the same.

I arranged myself a Geo-Pistol yesterday on Chimaera, the stats are 140-285 at 1.7 speed and it cost me 300k.

My 2 questionsare :

Was this a good business or did I get robbed

Shoud I go to dantooine and use this pistol or should I keep using my DX2, Republic blaster and FWG5 and use the Geo when getting killed in PVP?

Thanks for your help guys

Pssst..

Go read the posts from the smuggler correspondant. Slicing is completely random. Remember how buffs were totally random before they fixed them, Same issue with slicing.

Very very good business if it's not sliced, very good business if it's sliced. I have seen those go for 500k or more, though there does seem to be an avalanche of geos on chimaera at the mo so the price may be dipping.

You can grind with it - I mean, it's a gun dammit! Get a solo group and 37k enraged rancor missions on dathmoir and you can make the 300k back in little over an hour.

I agree with it being random, but it's no coincident when many of us would agree that almost every single krayt weapon (including ones I have) has all gotten speed sliced- either it's an intentional code by the devs or Morai's explanation has it right.

Aye, I never argued that it wasn't random ESPECIALLY the numbers, lord help me I was a smuggler long enough to know. I'm just saying it's a weighted random number. at least in deciding wether to slice speed or damage. like an average gun maybe 50/50 but a real high damage may be 40/60 speed slice, krayts like 25/75. you can still get em, just harder. and again, I said before this was never verified in anyway. just the theory demonstrated by observation. Slice say 20-30 krayt guns and it's REALLY hard to convince yourself it's 100% random.

The answer is simple - hunt mobs that are vulnerable to Stun. There are a lot of them and the ones that are (like Mokks) pay really well.

I've yet to see a mob that was vulnerable to Energy, and even Acid resist is common to some degree. But Stun is the least common resist on mobs, with the exception of Lightsaber.

Remember that you don't need AP if the target is vulnerable to that damage type.

Didn't stop my krayt geo made with +79 tissues from getting a 25% damage slice. Stats are now 160 - 385, hits 512 max with a 33% damage power up. Beautiful gun.

Even ifAPwas supposednot have anything to do with vulnerable dam types, it does. Example : the affect a comp armor has on a lightsaber even tho its vuln to lightsaber damage it still reduces the damage output of the lightsaber because it got light APproctection.

And i assure u there are as many acid vuln mobs out there as there are stun (or more "MO") . i dont have the time to list them all but just for the effect of an example.

-slicehound-deranged wrix-boar wolf-blurg hunter-veermok-ancient bull rancor-bordok mare-aged lantern bird-adult pygme torton- and offcourse the much popular hurton family good for exp and easy kill.

(almost) last thing, ye mokks are good money but for grinding not the first choice.

last thing, there are some domisticatedanimals that are vuln to everything including energy.

/for the record im not trying to flame u, just counter answering

why use a stun-gun like the geo for grinding it got no AP and most mobs got stun resistance, i would chose a dx2 and a rep blaster both got light AP which really pays off against most mobs. personally im grinding pistoleer for the second time these days and have chosen the BH way (great speed & acc, besides thatkrayted scatters er rather easy to get and great for grinding).

for pvp the geopistolis great, lately most ppl got stun armor and psg so its not always the way to go, then a krayted de-10 could work wonders problems is that without BH pistol u wont get enough speed for a dam sliced de-10 unless u got AA/CA speed mods. and the extra accuracy is always good when stackers are knocking on your door.
