kimos and snorbals are on Lok. And he's right they give great xp in small groups. Heck even pistoleers can solo the snorbals

its a pa and guild that has been around for over 9 years. starting with MUDs. and i dont recall sharing any opinion on knockdown let alone agreeing with anyone about it.

Look, I can solo almost any mob in the game by spamming pistol whip (except dark jedi, they're immune to it) knockdown really needs to be nerfed, and to level I could actually, oh heavens no, group!

Yes i know pistoleers and all non CH marksman will be forced to group if knockdown is nerfed, and thats fine cause I wish people did group in this game. But here's the problem, even if knockdown is nerfed, MOST people still will not want to group.Some things youcan blame this on arelack of an XP bonus for grouping. Doctors prefering to heal in medical centers and cantinas instead of in combat groups. No way to search for groups. Also, a lack of places to camp for XP. Most places have random spots where a lair will spawn some mobs, but a group needs to camp somewhere like in a tusken fort and take spawns in the same place, like in everquest. A group can't be roaming around looking for stuff to kill.


Knockdown definately needs to be nerfed but they should fix the group system before this

Warning shot kiting is your friend. Absolutely THE best exp you can get pre-pistol whip. I still use it frequently on multiple huurton stalkers at once.

One effect per minute? IMO that's not very wise. If knockdown resist isn't working why make two changes at once? Why not fixknockdown resist and see how much that helps? A minute? PvP lasts about 3-4 seconds, 1-2 shot. Pets will be unstoppable without being able to keep them knocked down. They are faster than burst run and do more damage than PCs, and have about 10x the defense/HAM. And that's the average ones. Yes sure, while XPing you can choose to fight mobs you can kill prone before they reach you. In PvP it's not quite the same.

Ok, if you can tank at later "levels" in the game so big... go try a Mercinary destroyer on lok.. get one 1on1. See-ya at the cloning center. Or if thats too hard try a mature+ snorbal.. or heck try half the creatures in the game.


You cant flat out tank much of anything without some way of defending yourself at close quarters. If they nerf pistol melee defence 1&2 they need to nerf all the TKA, and carbine knockdowns too. Oh and dont forget the smuggler lowblow.


fact is, you cant tank anything by yourself (unless its so weak you dont get but 1-2xp anyway) without some way of stunning or hindering your target. And dont go telling me to find a group or just keep killing my blue mobs. You shouldnt "have" to find a group to advance.. and as for the blue mobs.. by the time you get so high into pistoller.. those blue mobs are tearing you a new one. They only thing i know to do without the use of somthing to stun a mob is to kite.. and there are very very few creatures you can kite onced you get so high.

Knockdown nerfing came as a direct result of wanabee PvP heros whiners. Thanks to the overflowing crys of those who got beaten by a knockdown move now the only combat worthy move is going to hit the dust. Thanks to all the cry babies that were so bitter at novice marksman to be beaten by an advance pistoleer or Bounty Hunter! I hope you guys enjoy fighting 10k HAM mercenaries without a knockdown move!


As far as group oriented, I am sickand tired of thatgroup crap! Most of the time grouping means having to deal with idiots who send everybody back to the cloning chamber! Interdependance yes, thats good. I need a medic. I need an entertainer, I need a weaponsmith. It teaches me not only to respect and value them but also the value of sometimes just kick back and have R&R sitting in a cantina cracking joke with people.


When it come to hunting or missions sorry but screw you!I do it alone or with people I know very well, can handle themselves, and have at least an once of strategy!


Without knockdown, red cons = impossible period. Small groups are over since any red con will send at least one member back to the cloning chamber (kinda painfull having to wait 20 minutes for one member to get back!). Well I guess its back killing krettles with a flamethrower!

Look what happened to /maskscent when they added that 60 sec timer. If they add a 60 sec timer to knockdown then its going to be worthless. I still get incapped every once in a while (even die sometimes) so I don't think knockdown should be nerfed. There is still some risk involved though I hate to say that most of it is do to lag. 8(

Just wanted to correct this.. not all pets are faster then burst run and even the HIGH lvl pets cannot hit harder then a PC using specials. Lets take the rancor for example - one of the highest dmging pets in the game. Max dmg range is around 550-570 whereas a teras kasi using specials can easily hit for 1000+. Also critters can't target HAMs like players can. I think the onlymajor difference between a creature and a PC is that a high lvl creature has a hellava HAM pool.

Also wanted to point out that some creatures have extremely nice resists and AC1 and 2. That also makes a difference... hehe

Whoever said creatures do more damage then PCs is totally wrong. I dropped CH and I was a master because of the low damage they do compared to me. It was no use have a pet when I kill 3x as fast and all they do is take my XP.


Knockdown needs nerfed ONLY pvp, I'm sick and tired of MMORPGs nerfing both pvp AND pve because the hardcore pvp people cry. Its Bullsh*t, if they nerf all knockdowns then master pistoleer and smugglers (my two professions) BH's and carbineers will all be worthless solo pve.
