I got a Gorax Striker pistol that's 1.0 79-187 (from +67 -0.989 bone) and got a speed slice, it's 0.8 and I assure you the speed is hardcapped at 1.0 regardless of the weapon speed.

Let me clarify. With any pistol over 1.0 Speed, you can't cap all specials at Master Pistoleer.

+74 Speed is the Pistoleer's Magic Number because that's the point on the speed curve where Stopping Shot and Last Ditch (the two slowest-firing pistol specials) fire at the pistol's displayed speed. With a 2.0 gun and +74 Pistol Speed, you fire Stopping Shot every two seconds exactly, for example.

I was under the impression of the question being asked, "can I get faster than 1.0 with a 0.8 gun?", assuming it was referring to speed cap like +100 obviously.

Speed cap is always +100 speed.

Master Pistoleer gets +74.

There is only +74 pistol speed when you have master pistoleer without any clothing or armor attachments. +25 pistol speed clothing attachments gives you +99 pistol speed and if you use one of the new stim type loot that gives you temperary pistol speed you can get even more. Anyways:

+88pistol speedgives you cap if all the pistols you use are 2.1 or lower. +90 caps you if you have 2.5 speed pistols or faster.

+95 is a more practicalcapping speed since at thisyou can cap any pistol 5 or better. Sure+100 is the official cap but since we dont have pistolswith 400 speed or something like that we only have to get about +94 or +95to really cap with all pistols.
