If you are planning on hunting high-end stuff then you'll want to go with the Ranged Mitigation and not the ranged defense. Ranged defense just increases the chance that whoever is shooting at you will miss and most high-end things have such high accuracy that they never miss no matter if you have a capped ranged defense or not. In that situation, the mitigation will at least decrease the damage they will do to you since you will be getting hit pretty much everytime.
