I'm sure this has been mentioned at some point, and perhaps its an oversimplification but couldn't it just be as easy as this: 1 Pistol = 100% Accuracy based on your skills. 2 Pistols = 50% Accuracy, divide the mods in half. You can potentially double your damage but at the cost of accuracy. PvE this would bump pistoleer up quite a bit.. PvP dual weilding would be a disadvantage in most cases, at least against ranged defensive effective templates.

About the accuracy cutting it really wouldn't make that big a difference with foods and stacking. I think for dual wield we should have the "quickdraw walk" like in the westerns just to make fun of us before some kungfu ninja with brass knuckles comes and pulls a Jacky Chan on us. This would be if they ever get holstering in too... so that it would be explained by faster draw times... oh well just dreaming that they read the boards and give a carp about our ideas.

Its just going to an Animation. You weild one gun.. but it looks like two. No double damage, no double damage type. Just animations so people who want to carry two guns and look cool will stop complaining. I'm hoping its at least a Server side Animation. Could be Client side like Scopes on Weapons currently. In this case only you would even be able to see the Animation. Others would veiw you as simply holding one pistol.

Got a link to the post where a dev said it was just for show?

I will answer with 2 facts.
Fact 1: Thunderheart himself said that pistoleers and fencers will get dual weilding at some point. They do want to put that in the game.
Fact 2: The devs go back on what they have said many times, and or screw it up in the end so no one likes it or uses it.
