Ugh, grinding marksman rifle is teh suck. Its the unarmed of the marksman tree, as far as grinding goes.

When grinding the unarmed get some decent kinetic ubese, usually much cheaper than comp and is better for grinding unarmed.
I tried to mix up the xp just for fun.
Do one missions MOBs in rifles and hit the lair with carbines then switch for the second mission. You get xp in both and it doesn't get to tedious.
Unarmed I'd go the meatlump route til u get to grinding unarmed 4. The entire time you grind unarmed get a speed sliced VK. I know you cant use it but it will affect your speed and that is key.

I just started a walk-about out of town after getting buffed and had my armour on. Has just purchased a stocked DL44 (65/135 or something)and use some PUP's with it. The mobs just kept spawning as fast as I could kill them, getting from 995 to 3000 xp off each one. Just got lucky and found a hot spot. But I wasn't out there for no more then 2 hours and racked in 125K+ of XP. The sliced hounds averaged 900+ each, the humbaba's were about 1300 each (and easier to kill), the razor cats were giving 2000+ and the crimsom razor cats were giving 3500+ XP. But don't let 3 or more Crimsom 's jump on ya unless you got some good medic skills (learned that the hard way). Even as Master Rifleman on my other character, I've never earned so much XP at one time, but then again I didn't need to grind anymoreafter reaching Master. If you are on Tempest, go to Vex and then go northwest of town about 500 to 700 meters and cross the river. I never made it any further out then that.

That guide is too vague. Plus it assumes that you can/want to get uber buffed and get good armor. We need a detailed pistoleer guide.

Yohan1701 I didn't mind the rebuke, I should have checked but was in a hurry and it was my 4th post and 1st in this section, but either way I can appreciate that experienced people have more than like answered this kinda post loads. And in relation to rudeness, I dare say there have been people who have been more rudebut that dooesn't make it right.

Dawgypoo I ahve been working my way up to pistoleer for the last few days and have not moved up half as quick. Where are you getting your weapons and where abouts are you hunting? I just went to endor for the first time, fully buffed with sliced composite 80 armour and was getting decent xp and to the caves on Tatooine but otherwise its been slow going. For the most part, we trolls are pretty tame all things considered. Some days we get a little ... insensitive ... about how we answer questions but that is the same on every forum.
As far as a detailed pistoleer guide, they are out there but the fact is this:
If you want what the original poster asked, "The best place..." Those are covered in the linked FAQ. Pistoleer is a tough grind without buffs because of the lack of damage we put out. It just takes to long for us to kill stuff. You can stay unbuffed and kill low end mobs for weeks on end and do it that way or you can invest in some buffs and get master pistoleer in no time.
To be honest, I wouldn't tackle the "best places" until you were at least novice pistoleer anyways. Head outside of town and kill stuff for awhile. You'll gain xp, get your feet wet, and won't have to spend a fortune on buffs and stuff.

To be honest, the fastest I've ever ground Pistoleer was at one of those Meatlump spawns outside Coronet. They respawn as fast as you can loot them. You don't need specials to kill them if you have a pistol with 100 or more damage max, so just stand there and go to town on them. The exp per toon sucks, but it goes by so fast!

True, and if you have a pet (droids take batteries) group them and leave them in town so they don't take xp from you. You will get the group bonus, every little bit helps, and Ren is right it goes real fast.
