Novice BH requires master Marksman. Going BH pistols is not an option if he wants to drop the ranged support branch.

if you drop that you shouldnt be a pistoleer period. you should be at least bh/pistols. or if you are cool you will have my template and have good dodge.....which hardly anyone in the game has.

He He on the subject of being Uber I was a master rifleman and dropped it to go pistoleer. I find pistoleer much more fun and more of a challenge. With Rifleman it was just Strafe Shot Strafe Shot or Conceal Shot Conceal Shot. But with Pistoleer its fun and hitting quenker over the head with the pistol is a riot.
Ahh takes me back to the master commando days a bit of a tough profession but fulfilling.

suppression fire is great, but I would probably drop ranged support if I wasn't a CM.

No, you dont need it...
What you get from that line is:
General Ranged Aiming + 30
Ranged Defence +6
Melee Defence + 2
Alertness + 10 (no idea what that is supposed to do)
And the following abilities : Aim, Threaten Shot, Tumble To Standing/Kneeling/Prone, Warning Shot and Suppression Fire 1
If you dont want them, then feel free to drop it. Suppression Fire can be useful, the rest of them are pretty useless, I'd say you might miss the +30 General Ranged Aiming, but other than that you'll do fine without it.
Ignore Yeho and his "Everyone should be 1337 like me", just choose what you want... you dont have to have BH Pistols or Dirty Fighting to have fun.
hey you want to know what alertness does? noticeably nothing! it is a counter to another skill that does noticeably nothing - surprise shot from rifleman.
