I've actually had FanShot go through walls before. I was in the Squill Cave on Tatooine, firing FanShots at two Female Mountain Squills, and I noticed that my Combat Log said I was hitting a Mountain Squill Guardian too (no where to be seen). I opened the overhead map (that ctrl + m one) and saw him running in from the next room! He had been on the other side of the wall, and the game apprently forgot to end my shot when it reached the afore-mentioned wall.

the point of fanshot and any other AoE attack is to hit multiple mobs at one time. So if you've got say 4 pickets on you. You'd be able to hit ALL of them. Yes right now...if what you hit with fanshot, other than your current target, does not recieve damage..at least as far as I can tell. However once they are in combat with you using an AoE attack will take dmg on all of them.

The first fanshot will only hit the mob that you're targeting and aggro others in the cone effect. Once they are aggro'd and coming after you additional fanshotsshould damage all of the targets in the cone. This is a bug with the AoE effects. As for the actual damage numbers, fanshot has a 4x damage modifier compared to BS 2's 2.25x or 2.5x (I'm not sure of the exact number). Either way fanshot should be doing a lot more damage than BS2. I'd recommend that you keep trying it in different situations to test it out. It really is one of the Pistoleer's best shots.

Thats just it, after multiple fan shots, still only teh targeted creature gets damage...the others are 100% health. I have been trying this each mission on quenkners, and even with both running at me or both at my feet, fan shot will not damage the second one at all.....

Hitting with fanshot is all about position. Since you are a pistoleer you can be on the move and firing. I find quenker missions easiest when I have a static target like the lair. After you ping the lair once start rounding up your lil' doggies as they pop. If you have ever played EQ it is much like setting up a quad. Run circles around them until they are as grouped together as they are in this game, and then run back and forth to the lair. As long as the lair lasts a few will always try to heal it, and those are usually theyou do mostdamage too. After the lair is gone, pick the quenker with the most health, and spam that fan shot while running a box around them, or a circle, but I find that running in a square pattern results in the most hit's against the most target's.
