Could it be possible that you got hit by the bull? At only 7 meters you are definitely within striking distance. I don't use pets though and maybe using yours keeps the bull from even attacking you. I don't understand how that part works.

ok, so maybe I'm not crazy afterall... I noticed the same thing recently. Not sure of exactly when, but I used to be able to spam fanshot all day long after drinking a Tatooine Sunburn. But not anymore...
