Thread: Body Shot 3 or Stopping Shot?

I'm completely talking out of my....you know..here, but I "think" I noticed an increase in damage as I rasied pistoleer boxes...without changing special attacks or weapon. Am I nuts? It may have been me just paying more attention...I cannot tell. It might explain a lot if that's the case.

Anyway, my body shot3 is now hitting for around 300-500, and stopping shot for around 600-1200 or so. Body shot is of course, targeted health pool, stopping shot is random. *shrug* Both are good IMO for a boost to your overall offense.

Body shot 3, stopping shot does a lot of damage but is a random ham hit. So is fan shot, with body 3 your are consistanly hitting the health pool.

I'm going to be a Combat Field Doctor who uses some pistoleer skills, and I was thinking about getting Intermediate Pistoleer Marksmanship, and either a third level skill of any of the other trees. My tactics with my current scout blaster (54-101 2.3 non sliced) are as follows (I'm usually always in a group, hey, I'm a doctor!):

Stay in the back of the group, providing healing and giving that extra punch to the enemy.

I use Health Shot 2 a lot first, then Body Shot 2 constantly until their entire health bar is gone. This is the tactic that I use currently.

I was thinking about what would make me a more effective combat role in which tree I went up, Body Shot 3, or Stopping Shot? Since I'm already used to the tactics that I am using already, I was thinking about having a Sliced really good Scout Blaster, and maybe along the road, a DX2, then just using my same technique of health shot 2, then body shot 3 constantly with my good scout blaster.

This method seems to work the best for me in a supportive role, and I was just wondering how I could tweak it to do more damage. I'm still working on my first level intermediate skill for pistoleer, so I have time to choose between them.

i have never done less than 1k damage with stopping shot. i use a 99-164 scatter, which is armor piercing, so even good armor still only drops like 100 damage offa it. (good player wearable armor, that is, armor1)

also, maybe a bug, but if the message you get is hitting for 1000, watch the numkbers over yer target's head, itll be around 1300 they take. could be due to the AP of the scatter, im not sure yet, ill check into it more later.

my opinions are based on pvp, I would never choose bs3 over stopping shot.

I dunno. I tried stopping shot. It doesn't seem too effective. It's long recovery time is hard to work with. Personally, I spam fanshot alot. It does about the same dmg as stopping shot but fires 2x as fast.

I've done a few shots with fanshot that range between 400-1300. that's using my FWG5 that has 46-203 dmg. Aside from pistolmeleedefense1, this is the best pistoleer skill I've gotten.

BS3 is useless imo. It does onlt about 100-200 more than BS2, but it also has slower refire rate and also has higher HAM costs. BS3 might be useful when fighting an artisan/entertainer who has less than 700 health, but that's about it. Dodge is also useless, so if you can only go up branch, forget tactics and stances.

Go for either Special Abilities or Marksmanship.

I finally after many days got enough Pistol EXP to get level 1 training in something.

Should I work my way to Body Shot 3 or Stopping Shot first?

Thanks!

body shot 3 is better in my opinion becuase it hits health only. and that tree gives you dodge bonuses that are uber good.

with a 51-158 fwg5 bs3 does about 150-600 (at the very most, rarely)to health, stopping shot does close to 1100 at the most, to a random pool, in my experience.

To me it seems like Bodyshot 3 is better for soloing. Stopping Shot is better for getting XP in a group.

I chose to get Stopping Shot first because the insane XP from it would make it easier to fill the rest of the profession. I've been happy with my choice.

I prefer BS3, but I could see how SS is better for PvP.
