I have very high pistol speed mod and I can still tell the difference in speed between my speed-sliced gun and my crit sliced gun.
Get it speed sliced - or don't ever use a pistol with a lower base speed. You will kick yourself.

I'd agree with that, speed slice means every attack benefits, critical means, what... 3% of your attacks do?If you want a damage boost, use pyro... dont count on a critical chance going off.

Well, fully sliced critical chance is 10%, which is decent.
I believe a critical hit is 15% extra damage - not bad - but considering with a full speed slice (12%) you will be doing your attacks that much faster - and pistoleer is built for doing quick attacks.
Most attacks don't use your modified speed as a limiter - your weapons base speed is much more important for determining how fast you can do attacks.

fully crit slcied weapon as a 10% chance of hitting critical. combine that with Adv Crit of a Bh special, +25 pistol speed, +25 general ranged speed, and the sped mods of pistoleer/mbh or smuggler - and I assume youd work out at doing more damage..
am I right in saying we arent supposed to be hitting faster than a scond?
isnt crit supposed to land 50% more damage on the opponent?
would be nice if we coudl get some hard numbers.

There are a few of us Pistoleers firing 8 body shots in 10 seconds, but it isn't legal as far as I'm concerned and I have been trying to get it fixed.

I have the exact same thing, except mine is exactly 2.0 speed
and yes, i'd slice it all critical hit chance. I did to mine and it rocks

My modified speed with a speed sliced pistol is .95. Min Damage on my gun is 374, max 966
This allows me to get 21 attacks in 20 seconds by alternating quick shot and ranged shot.
If this was a critical sliced pistol my speed is 1.10.
This allows me to get 18 attacks in 20 seconds. Assuming 10% critical percent rate I would get approximate 2 critical hits during those 18 seconds. These 2 attacks would have to 150% more damage for the critical slice to be worth applying. I can believe 50% more damage on critical hit - but 150% more damage is definately not happening.
Too many people get swayed by the flashy big numbers - I know I love seeing big chunks of damage floating up above my target. But you really can do more damage without using the big shots without the huge bonus modifiers and just taking advantage of the raw speed and low SAC of our pistols.

I realize this can be made better and with a slice it would be, I was just overjoyed when I finally got around to double capping the Featherweight and it was the first of its kind that I had seen (seen a couple of double capped scatters before)
Since I made this post people have posted about double capped feathers on the WS board and someone made an even better one. (which is awesome cause now I have a new goal )
Don't fwg5's tale reinforced casings not cells? I had one made with some 181 damage casings and got more than 20 damage away from the damage cap. =( At least my Elite Carbine made it to the double cap =)
